Why did the Saints waste a 1 round pick on a player that they dont even use? I know ill prolly get slammed but it doesnt seem to be very smart on the Saints part if you plan on throwing the ball 50 times a game.I am happy with the Saints record and all that but think we could have been better served with a different pick based on our rb usage.

Can we let him get through one freaking season before we start making assumptions about what kind of player he will be and how well we are going to use him?

He has the most carries of all of our running backs. And if he can pick up third and shorts and punch it in on goal line situations, will it be worth it?

Just because someone is a first round pick doesn't mean you should force the ball to that player. I think we made that mistake with Reggie and the Falcons made that mistake with JJ and got away from their run game.

It's early man. He's played well and has been asked to carry the ball a lot in obvious running downs. Be patient.

If your going to dis the pick...the very least you could do is give your pick. Or your just a falcon troll. Who knows anymore around here.

Can you please just add your thoughts to one of the 5 other threads already started on the same fricking topic??? Did you think your statement required yet another thread on the issue?

thanks

ETA: I get it now. You have a bazillion posts on the Fantasy Sports board, yet only one on the Saints (this one, which you started). So you must've drafted Ingram on your fantasy team and felt the need to come to the Saints board and air your gripes with the amount of touches he is receiving. Well nobody here cares about your fantasy team, and I hope you lose all your money. Go suck off a donkey

While im a huge fan of ingram, to the OPs point, i dont really see a significant difference between him and Ivory or PT. Granted, he's a rookie.

They are all fast, run hard, fall forward, and have good ball security.

Because the rest of the Saints backs at the time of the draft were fragile and the downfall of the team last season was lack of a running game due to injuries. In 2009 the Saints were the #6 rushing attack, 2010 #28, so far in 2011 they are #10. The Saints may be pass happy but they won't win another SuperBowl without a solid run game. Replacing Bush with Sproles and adding Ingram to the mix makes it a lot more likely that the Saints will have a decent running game heading into the post season.

I would venture to guess he was used more than Cam Jordan.

You guys can all be f*gs about it makes no difference to me it just goes to show that you cant ask a question or voice your opinion on this board without getting swarmed by losers. Also I dont post on this board so I dont monitor how many Ingram threads there are a day like some folks.

I'm here to talk about your opinion. Not all first rounders contribute immediately but even then, Ingram has gotten more playing time as a rookie than much of our most recent picks. Your whole theory is dumb.

I have said all alone that the Saints wasted a pick or picks whatever it was to move up to get Ingram, they could have taken S Ridley in the 3rd round like the Pats did and get the same production that Ingram is giving them, maybe more because Rid is bigger than Ingram, anyways that pick is starting to look like a steal for NE.

but Ingram is still a good back, real explosive when given daylight!

Defense know when Ingram is in the game an know we want to get him involved. He's kind of a one trick pony so D's can key on him. Unlike Sproles who D's can't figure out cause we got him doin everything in the playbook.. Even PT got alittle more game with his running and can kill you with running screen play. Ingram will be a solid back in this league and i'm almost 100% sure he will dazzle us once coach opens up the playbook for Ingram alittle more.

If you disagree with a pick just offer an opinion on what they 'should have done' instead of coming on here with nothing but a bitch and a gripe after a win. What did you expect from such thread. Really?

First I dont disagree with the pick I love Ingram and think the sky is the limit he is like a bowlingball when he runs. I just disagree with the use of it. I also did not realize that you couldnt be critical of anything the Saints do on this board. Seems like this place is full of sunshine pumpers and need to come back to reality.
They should have saved the pick or drafted a linebacker or O-lineman and drafted some guy to just be a battering ram with no actual talent later on in the draft.
