When does the pink cleat nonsense start?

Last year this crap went on for 2 or 3 weeks - it was ridiculous. I hope the NFL does a better job of not allowing the pink caps, cleats, chinstraps, tampons (for Tracy Porter), and mouthpieces to be worn for longer than the ONE designated weak (misspelling intentional).
The whole idea of NFL players wearing the color pink on the field (not to mention pink goalpost padding) is ridiculous - especially when you recall the fact that Jake Plummer was not allowed to wear a "40" on his helmet after Pat Tillman was shot by his Army Rangers or that Manning wasn't allowed to wear black high tops after the passing of Johnny Unitas a few years back.

I think the NFL would've been fine if the whole team wore a 40 sticker but it doesn't usually support individual marks.
