Any low cappers here use this swing method? If so, what are your general thoughts and some tips for someone making a swing change to this method?

Dont go to the stack and tilt

Is there a reason why? I'm a 4 right now with more of a 2 plane, but my ball striking is up and down, so I'm looking to move to something to hopefully gain some consistency.

Stack and tilt will just frustrate you and you wont get any better. will just waste a year or two and then have trouble getting back to where you were
S&T goes against the general swing principals. IMO dont do it you will regret it for a long time

No
The day Tiger, AScott, or anyone switches to that and wins a major is the day i think about maybe trying it.
I have looked into it and all and i just dont think its the right swing principal at all.
Im around a 6 handicap myself, If i didnt have school I'd be alot lower, over summer my scores drop because i play mroe than once a month.
I think ( obviously i havent played with you so its a generalization) if you want to get lower sscores you need to get your wedges done to a sick accuracy and practice putting putting putting. The way to get from a 10 to an 8 a 6 to a 4 or a 2 to scratch is normally all short game
If you are a 4 obviously you can hit the ball you just need to find you week point and make it your strong point, Dont think the S&T is going to help that one bit

My short game bails me out every round it seems like. I'm a scramblers and very streaky. I don't even know what to call Tiger's swing, but Adam does have the best swing in golf and Donald's looks fantastic as well. I may toy with it to see if I improve but if not I'll just scratch it.

I agree, and to think thats tigers swing that he didnt like and got rid of
If you want to try it go for it but its a radical change and will be really hard to go back if you realize you hate it.
Alot of the guys you see on the commercial they show have gone away from the stack and tilt since then. Charlie Wii jumps to mind as someone that used it went down the shitter and went back and almost won 2 tournaments in a row

I will try to make this short and sweet...
Check out the Tour, and see how many guys are using the "Stack and Tilt"...Then see how many guys have won using the stack and tilt. After that, divide the number of wins buy 5 years (with about 45 tournaments per year)...That should give you a pretty clear representation of how effective it is!

PS...I just read that part and thought I should chime in

Charlie Wi is basically their perfect model and is still with them. They still have a solid stable of guys. S&T is a marketing thing. The swing isn't really like the books. Most of the tour uses the idea in some way now. It's about being centered, and not involving a big weight shift. Shoulder down, weight to inner thigh. Justin Rose won last week with it

How many GIR and FIR do you average a round? Tebow is right in that the easiest way to lower a handicap is to practice shots inside of 50 yards.
To the OP, Stack and Tilt is a marketing ploy. If you want more consistency study Kuchar's swing. It's a simple one plane swing and won't be too hard to emulate if you are serious about switching and as a 4 handicap it shouldn't be too difficult for you.

I am a 10 handicap I keep very detailed records of my game. I tried the stack and tilt for a season, and I went back to my old ways.
My game:
Long hitter pw is 145, 285 on a launch monitor indoors with driver.
My weakest part of my game by far is short game, I will average 13 gir in a round and still play to my 10 handicap, lot of three putting. And at least one chuncked chip a round.
I am also a high ball hitter, with enough spin to stop a 6 iron dead on a clean shot.
My stack and tilt trial:
First thing is spin rate increased, ball flight decreased.
I also through my records I noticed that my misses were not as bad as before, but as an overall percentage my fairways and gir's went down.
I switched from it because I like being a high
ball hitter, and I enjoy 3 great shots a round over 5 average shots. Also the crazy spin was killing me.
I was not trying to get my handicap down to a from a 4 to a 2. if I wanted to do that, I
would have taken some short game and putting lessons.
Btw, I call my game a scramble dream, because it is very effective in scrambles
and we will always use one of my balls on long par 4's and a par 5.

Don't do it. It is a very unathletic golf swing and can lead to a lot of bad habits. As others have noted, there is a reason that this fad has gained traction on the pro tour.

this method is like the belly putter. its a cry for HELP!
Not many guys have gotten better by going to this. Charlie Wi may be the only one who as improved, but he is not a serious contender very often.
Baddley wasted a few years on this method and then ditched it, jsut now coming back to form

Avoid it like the plague. I work with a large number of PGA swing coaches, so avoid any boxed marketed swing approach. They dont use it with their players. Find a coach that knows the principles of the swing and can tailor to you in simple manner.
Want to lower your scores, find someone that coaches you to play and not swing. Work inside 100 yards and practice that. Scores will drop.

Screw the stack and tilt. Find the slot instead. The Slot Swing by Jim McClean. It's a 2 plane principal. I play to a 4 HCP and was a 9 Playing a 1 plane swing before switching to the Slot Swing. To me I can feel the plane better, and am able to feel the club flatten in the downswing attacking the ball. If you record golf and slow motion most pro swings, they are some form of a 2 plane Slot Swing with the club being on a more vertical plane at the top of the backswing.
I agree with the previous poster. If you want to get better, increase your ability on the short game and putting.

No experience with the Stack and Tilt, but I recently made a swing change on the advice of a respected golf pro in the area. Got the advice of a swing change when getting fitted for new Pings. Found out I should've been a black dot (standard lie) instead of the orange dot (2* flat) Ive been playing for 15+ years.
Anyway dont make major swing changes until you are ready to put in the practice and have someone to guide you through the process. I havent had the time to practice or gotten a lesson with him and ive been pretty frustrated lately with the game. when i hit it clean i gain the extra 20 yards or so that the new swing gives me plus with better accuracy but the clean hits are few are far between.
just a thought before you decide on a swing overhaul. btw im a 15 hcp and suck at putting but can always hit the ball on roughly the same spot of the club face every time. (use a dry erase marker to paint your club face and you have a cheaper alternative to impact tape)
