The kid has played 2 NFL games as a backup to Pierre Thomas. I mean...SERIOUSLY?

Ingram runs with plenty of power. I don't care what anyone says. His oline has not been blocking all that well, consistently. Ingram has elite balance/agility and is deceptively powerful. I think he will end up being a great back for us. Thomas needs to get more carries too.

I wish the Saints would do a better job establishing the run in a more balanced offense. Especially with the injuries at WR. If we're going to get anywhere this year, we're going to need 100+ yards every game just like yesterday. Can't be a 70-30 team. Need to be 50-50. Maybe 60-40.

What a profound statement by Lombardi! Should anyone be sold on him yet? One way or the other?

Against great defenses, no less.

Wait till we play a team like Tampa and the kid runs wild. I love that we keep being doubted. It's gonna make hoisting that Lombardi trophy that much sweeter!

i think that we need to play action a little more on short yardage when ingram is in there. seems like the defense knows that he is going to get the ball everytime. we need to surprise.

Did Lombardi every think that the short yardage playcalling might be at fault and not a rookie RB that has seen two games of action in the NFL?

Who hires these hacks?

Personnel is definitely showing its hand. When he comes into the package pretty damn good chance he is getting the ball. Payton will victimize someone on this.

Dude was solid running the ball when he had blocking. A couple of times the play got blown up in the backfield.

I think this is all because he's a first round pick. What else do you want from a rookie who's sharing reps with two other backs?

I think Mike Lombardi posts here under the name grahammooney....

At any rate, let people doubt us. We've put up 30+ fricking points against two good teams with solid defenses. God I can't wait to see what we are going to do to mediocre and average teams this year.

Tampa's run defense isn't very good FWIW. I think Ingram & PT could have a big game against Houston next week. Daniel Thomas, the rookie for the Dolphins picked up 107 yards on 18 carries against them yesterday. As a whole, they had 153 yards on the ground.

I'm aware that's why I said the kid is gonna have a great game against them. Kind of like Ivory did last year.

Anyone watching the games can clearly see ingram runs with an attitude and will be very good...

2 things right now holding him back

1. He's the running back in OBVIOUS running downs

and

2. Our O-line despite two pro bowl guards, just doesn't seem to get a really good push on inside run blocking. This is the most frustrating part of watching the Saints since 2007...we were very good for the first 2/3 of the 09 schedule then the run blocking just disappeared

watch more football lombardi

GB and CHI both are good defenses and he led the team in rushing 14 carries for 50+ yards. toward the end of game is when he goes into beast mode because defenses start getting tired and he's able to run through tackles to get to the second level

Is that the guy who called Ingram a marginal Mario Bates at best?
