I get it. Its the end of the game, and we can run the clock and lock down the W, but... I would have loved to see the coaches show confidence in Lee and go right back to him, even if its a five yarder.

The fact that they didnt let him throw it again and let him in the game that way sort of left me with the feeling that he was in a way being repremanded.

ORRRRRRRRR, Les saw that all we had to do was secure the ball and win the game.

They actually called a pass play to Randle on 3rd down late in the game, but then called a timeout and the play was blown dead right before Lee threw the ball. After the timeout, ran up the gut.

I don't know about the reprimanded part but I was wanting him to throw another pass before the end of the game. Always hate for your last throw to be an interception.

Nah not at all. We just didn't need to throw the football anymore. We have very little to gain from a passing attempt. And if I remember correctly we were going to run a passing play after on 3rd and 7, but called a time out right before. Then came back in with a running play.

This game should have been great for Lee's confidence. Hard to beat 21 for 27.

??????????

Get real.

It's late... all you had to do was run off about three minutes on the clock and MSU's chance at victory was practically zero.

If I were an AD you would flunk my head coaching vacancy interview.

The play wasn't a great call. We didn't need to throw it up like that.

But unless Lee audibled that play, it was what the coaches called, and they knew the risk. I don't see them reprimanding Lee for something that was as much their fault, and RR's fault, as it was Lee's fault.

Plus, we were winning in the end of the game and our running game was churning out yards. No need to throw it.

During the game, I was waiting for the nail in the coffin...but at the end of the day, we won and passing wasn't needed.

Hmmmm worry about JL feeling reprimanded or securing the win??

Seriously bro! This is rantard material. JL obviously wasn't being punished. They only way we lose the game would have been a TO that resulted in a quick TD for MSU.

I thought the same thing last night, but really, if you step back and realize....

a) the season has really just begun; we'll see plenty more of Lee and him throwing passes.
b) Miles wanted to secure the win

I totally agree with the OP. I sometimes think Les has it out for Lee. I mean do you honestly think Jefferson has been our best option the last 3 years? Not leeting him throw after that pick is ridiculous. You saw last night this kid had the second longest streak of completed passes in school history and there have been many qb's run through this school. I'm not even sure that pick was his fault. Randle cut off his route with what looked like man coverage but either way don't see how Lee could have predicted he'd do that. Miles needs to get over his ego and let the kid play ball.

He threw a bad ball. It happens. Coaches know that it happens. Players miss blocks. Players miss tackles.

He was not being reprimanded.

The running play is not a punishment for the QB. It's a staple of every offense. In the SEC, you have to be able to run the ball, particularly in the final minutes of a games when you lead.

In the final minutes of the game last night, LSU was leading. Thus, LSU ran the ball. Lee was not being reprimanded. He played pretty damn good.
