Damn man, adding 2 more teams currently in the Top 10 to the already brutal SEC schedule.
I mean its awesome, but 1-loss SEC Champs should get an auto bid to the Championship if thats the new conference.

They pretty much do as is.

Respectfully disagree. They'll immediately make recruiting considerably more difficult for all the current SEC powers without adding any new TV markets. I'd much rather add Virginia Tech instead. New markets, strong football program that won't wreak havoc on recruiting, and better school mean VT>FSU.

Being in the SEC helps FSU in non-football sports. I think it hurts UF. I would LOVE FSU in the SEC as long as LSU doesn't have to play them every year. Most of the people I work with are Nole fans, so it would be awesome.

They have a top 5 class this year. What's the difference

I can't emphasize enough how ignorant and downright stupid this line of thought is. Guess what? Florida State actually is already in Florida. Moving from the ACC to the SEC significantly changing the recruiting is complete nonsense.

This only makes sense in a B1G cable model. If we go that way, it makes sense since you would be adding subscribers. But a lot of people watch FSU, believe it or not and it would push the SEC's market share significantly over 50% with essentially no place for an advertiser to go from Ark/LA to GA/FL if they want to reach the college football audience en masse.

While it is overblown, it makes sense. Maybe a recruit was torn between wanting to play for FSU and wanting to play in the SEC? I'm sure it happens fairly often. The ACC is not a league that 4 and 5* recruits are dying to play in. Although, Clemson and FSU do alright most years.

IMO, 99+% of recruits who say that are just looking for justification to say why they chose school x over y. In terms of ambitions it just doesn't matter; the competition and coaching is good enough. Yes coaches will sell it; other coaches will refute it. It's just not believable that's it's more than a marginal 1 recruit a year thing, if that, considering location and recruiting limitations.
ETA: The primary and overwhelming factor that will influence their recruiting is success on the field. You think they are going to steam roll everyone in the SEC?

FSU 6.5 hour drive from BR I-10 the whole way!! T A & M 6 hour drive from BR. Sounds like great road trips to me! Please let them in and stop this expansion crap. Can LSU Volunteer to be FSU's permananent East Opponent and drop the Gaytors.

I would totally support this. And I really love the annual UF game.
FSU tailgating + LSU tailgating = fricking amazing.

Red, what's the real reason you are opposed to FSU?
I've heard you mention before that it's not a new state and therefore doesn't add any new media markets.
That's debatable, but I was wondering if you had any other reasons.
Did a Seminole fan piss in your Cheerios or what?

if you polled the fans, most would want FSU in the SEC IMO
