Yet it still took 30 minutes in line to just get on the escalators at gate 19!

My season tickets are in the EU, and I gave up on those pieces of shite 3 years ago. I just take the ramps up the far end now, and while it takes a little longer to get up there, I don't have to worry about them breaking down or coming to a standstill.

No way that was the actual count. That stadium was full at kick off.

It was a good turnout.

You're so smart... I have been to a game or three and know what packed and not packed looks like.

no way in hell. Other than a scattering of no shows seats in the WU, it was hard to spot an empty seat. Even the wine&cheese crowd the west sidelines showed up in force.

Unless you have a link to an official LSU attendance statement, I'm calling BS on the 79000.

Was not a sellout, but no way it was only 79K.

Play is probably the appropriate word for last night.. because it most certainly wasn't any work.

Schedule better teams, people will come and stay.

No, they're all scattered out. Looks like about 35k to me.

Uh... No it wasn't even close to full. I was surprised at how many empty seats I saw at kickoff.

Paid attendance was 92,405. Definitely wasn't a full house.

agreed...I looked around at kickoff and guessed that there were 10,000 seats empty...I guess this thread confirms it....

You guys are aware LSU, like every other team in the SEC and beyond, are not going to play top level teams every week right? That some weeks are against lesser competition? It's still ok to come and watch the team you supposedly pull for, and enjoy watching some live football on a Saturday night. Not every game is going to be '07 Florida.

difference in a walk-through and northwestern state. I went to the game, but i don't blame people for skipping it and keeping the party going.

I'm also not saying that the problem is exclusive to LSU. College football needs a makeover away from these shitty match-ups.

There weren't as many tailgates either. LSU might be making more money from elevated ticket prices and pay to tailgate / park schemes, but you can expect the rent-a-wins to yield less than desirable results.

Whole lot of people in this thread that need to learn the difference between "actual" and "paid" attendance...

I have seen some poorly attended games before but last nights was not among them. Stadium looked and seemed to be full to me.

79,000 for perspective is a full lower bowl and one upper deck. there wasn't an empty upper deck.

Geez people, there were unused tickets all over....there were easily 5-6 "empty" seats on my row, if not more, but it "looked" full because everyone spread out a little so that we weren't sitting on top of each other. I am sure my row was not the only row with people missing and 5-6 people per row starts to add up after a while. This phenomenon happens at the Box all the time as well...the place "looks" full, but it isn't because the people have spread out instead of sitting on top of each other, which is required when everyone actually DOES show up.

Stop being an idiot. I wasn't going to spend $500-$600 on this weekend to drive in from fricking Houston to watch a game that was going to be over at half time. It's not worth it.

well don't buy the ticket...
