Saturday is Battle on the Bayou. Evangel vs Lafayette, MS; Byrd vs Marshall, TX; West Monroe vs Calvary. I would favor Calvary if not for WM losing last year. I can't remember the last time WM lost back to back games. 1992 I think?

WM lost back to back to back games in 2002. Carver, ECA, and Byrd. They went on to get blown up by ECA in the finals.

STM doesn't even have one of their best players, their 6'3 250lb TE who comes back in week 3

Evangel vs Lafayette, MS

This should be a great game. Lafayette has 4 D1 prospects. Their QB, Jeremy Liggins, is 6'3 270 lb. Being recruited by all the SEC schools.

Northshore at Chalmette (more on this game later)

northshore's win over salmen got the state's attention, but i hope it also got our attention. i thought this game might be another berwick, which would be fine with me.

we gave up -40 yards, 1 first down and scored 4 defensive touchdowns and a safety. the game was 19-0 after 1, 41-0 at halftime, and 54-0 final

northshore's steven gaines kept his team in the game against salmen with a 46 yard touchdown completion on a fake punt in the fourth quarter. he later ran in the two point conversion and the other touchdown. ralph price kicked a 32 yard field goal in OT

the main challenge for us is not looking ahead to holy cross, but northshore might have taken care of that for us

Brother Martin at St. Augustine. No district implications, this year. I've seen or heard that Leonard Fournette is out for the Purple Knights?
Anyone know how this will affect them? I saw they still put up 40 points against McD.35 last week.

I saw BM's first half on Friday, didn't go back for the second. And in that deluge, it's difficult to gauge what the Crusaders looked like. Judging from the play-by-play, it appears that John Migliore (soph. QB) was either hurt, or taken out, or they went to some kind of wildcat with Jabbar Singleton?

John West put up some yards in the first half, but there were so many turnovers.
