I don't want Texas ever in the SEC. They have destroyed 2 conferences with their selfishness and arrogance. I think they are way to self centered to ever be a true SEC team. I could never see their fans chanting "SEC, SEC, SEC" at a game. Texas is like the spoiled rich kid that had no brothers and sisters and have no clue how to share.

This would have a lot more impact if TX was interested in the SEC.

And, this is the highest compliment I could have ever imagined Texas getting.

Be careful, NAACP says that is racist.

I am not mad, just want to see the SEC stay 1 and Texas's off the field issues bother me.

Your answer explains a lot about the selfish arrogant attitude Texas has.

It's not selfish or arrogant to love you school more than the other schools you happen to play in sports. We're Texas. That's it. Whether we play in the Big 10, Big 12, or PAC 12, that simple fact will never and should never change. The SEC is the only conference to have this "pride" in their opponents in any level of sports.

The SEC is also the best conference...hmmm. Maybe that works out for them.

And the Big Ten schools have a lot of pride in their conference as you might find out. Not SEC level, but they do.

Yes, perhaps you should read the next sentence in my post.

The Big Ten schools' pride is more understated, but they won't take kindly to a school considering itself above others or an outsider looking out for its best interest.

Yeah, cause no school could possibly look out for its own best interest.

Perhaps, it is more just an expression of pride in the South and in southern culture more than in their opponents.

If Baylor says Texas to the SEC, that is what will happen. We are all Baylor's pawns.

No other conference chants their name, unless it's in a mocking fashion to SEC fans. I guess it's the old South thing.

Texas fans would probably get in the act eventually if in the SEC.. We have our fair share of walmarks t-shirt and redneck fans contrary to the image the university would like to portray.

No other conference wins NC lately in football. We don't expect you to understand.

Not all that long ago I would have loved to have Texas in the SEC but I just don't think they are worth the headache. They can take their ball and play in the Big 10 or ACC. It will stink for UT fans though not being able to drive to a single road game. Can you imagine not having a single driving option when playing an away game in your own conference. I know Texas has plenty of major airports but that would suck.
