Either OU or VT would be GREAT fits for #14.

It's not gonna be OU.

For some reason it looks like Slive is staying away from the ACC. VT would be my choice though.

Learn to love Mizzou.

WVU would be the best choice. Y'all don't want Auburn or Bama on the east do you?

What wrong with Mizzou? They have been a top 25 program over the last few years and they add another market. Granted I would rather fsu or va tech, but mizzou kind of makes sense too.

So I got out of touch with all the expansion news when the SEC voted not to extend the invite before. Is Florida State not interested?

They (FSU) would be a perfect fit when we move to 16.

FSU, VT, NC, OU = not coming to the SEC period.

It's not out of the realm of possibilities that Mizzou would be in the EAST.

There are apparently two ground rules that Slive has when dealing with expansion, and FSU doesn't fit in either one.

1. Slive doesn't want to add schools in states where the SEC already has a member. As Florida is already in the SEC, FSU is out.
2. It appears that Slive doesn't want to (or can't) poach any ACC schools. FSU is in the ACC.

With this information, I would go for West Virginia first (balances out East and West divisions with no moves).

Since A&M is in, add Mizzou to the west and WVU & Va Tech to the east.

I don't know if Mizzou has the fanbase to fit in to the SEC. I have never seen them in College Station, even when they've been really good. West Virginia seems like it has the following to fit in, though I'm sure none of that matters. I would think WVU and UK could develop a solid rivalry though, especially in basketball.

Unfortunately it appears VT (and also NC State) are off the table. Either Slive doesn't want to poach the ACC or that conference is tighter than most of us thought.

What an idea! A conference where the schools actually want to stay together! Wonder if the SEC could adopt this approach?

I like the idea of pulling someone from the east next. I don't want our divisions getting changed up. If they move Auburn to the east I wouldn't get to enjoy hating on them as much. Plus I like playing them, it is always a great game.

Missouri has been a better program than A&M for the last decade. Still don't want either one of them!

Why? Have you ever been to Morgantown? Twice I had to spend the night there and at dawn the next morning was burning rubber to get out of that place. Not only is it inbred beyond Deliverance it is also cold. And I mean really, really cold.

I'm thinking you will get your wish Rhodeislandred. I believe Mizzou will be in the SEC now that we've opened the gates to texass.
