I am not worried about the flooding, or winds, or tornados, but worried that my damn electricity is going to get knocked out and I won't be able to watch the game.

Making plans to go watch it with someone that has cable instead of satellite and if I cant I'll try to find a motel with cable.

Generator. For the WIN.

Had to use mine during the WV game last year. power went out right as the game went to halftime. Ran downstairs, moved the genny outside, cranked her up, flipped the transfer switch, and watched the 2nd half powered by diesel fuel.

That's the only time I've had to use it and boy was I glad to have it. If there is any TV I WILL NOT MISS, it's LSU games.

There are no social engagements I will attend on Saturdays in the fall. I don't give a f((k.

Mrs WNCTiger understands and knows better than to ask or to plan some BS that would make me miss a game.

LSU comes on ~12 times per year and I ain't missing the only thing on TV worth watching come hell or high water -- I'm prepared.

I don't think we will have to worry about it in the Alexandria area. We will get a little rain and wind, but nothing too devastating. If power goes out, there is always radio.

Not perfect, but go get some batteries and a battery powered radio (or television) and you're all set no matter what the weather does (unless it knocks out the station itself)...

Where are all the "Direct TV is so much cheaper and better" folk now?

Things like this are exactly why I would never switch to the dish.

That's the other thing I have dish and yes I might lose it for a while, but during the last hurricane we lost comcast and power. The power came on a day later and comcast was out for another 3 weeks. Everybody that had Dish was set to go after a day. So frick comcast and cable. I'll put up with my losing signal once a year for a little while.

I have my deep cell battery and analog antenna set on stand by with a radio tuned to 98.1 FM. I'm not missing it. If cable goes out I have the analog signal from ABC, if power goes out I have the battery that will last about 7 hours on my TV. Go to Academy and walmart, you'll be all set up!

Link for analog tower maps

Put in your location and select the nearest ABC tower and point your antenna that way. Just in case cable goes out, you can watch the game with and analog set up.

When you get a chance you should reinstall it in your attic if you have the room. Won't be a problem then.

Just have a backup place or plan if you lose power.

One of you neighbors has to have a generator if you don't. Might want to give them a heads up about your contingency plan.

Thinking IF we get out tomorrow morning (Delta is challenged flying successfully even under perfect conditions) then the likelihood of flying back on Monday is slim...
