Bad news from DC: President's Speech Could Black Out Game

Boehner just told Obama to do a joint session on THURSDAY NIGHT instead of Wednesday (as he originally requested) to give a speech on jobs.
If the President accepts, the game will likely be subbed for Obama. This could really, really suck.

Obama= Hater...Chi-town fan...GB playing after just winning SB..coincidence? i think not.

That's not going to happen. First of all, I doubt NBC would cut into the game: the ratings are simply too important. Secondly, it would be a big political mistake to schedule it for that night. It would create an unnecessary (and significant) backlash.

Obama requested to give his speech on Wednesday night, THE EXACT TIME of the GOP debate that is scheduled to air that night.
So Boehner counters with this...

But it's actually Boehner that's begging him to delay the speech because there is a televised Republican debate at the same time that wednesday.
They better not frick up my football night.

This motherfricker can give his "speech" at 3am on a Tuesday. I repeat:

NBC would be nuts not to play the game.

I agree but I'm afraid that a Presidential speech to a joint session of Congress will trump a football game.
I really hope they resolve this and not frick everything up.

If it does happen then NFL network will pick it up. There is no way in hell this game isn't going to be televised. This isn't Detroit man, this is the game between Super Bowl Champions

I guarantee NBC would not preempt the game to air the Obama speech. It would be more trouble than it's worth for NBC. There are too many viewers and ad dollars at stake.
The White House and the Republicans know this. Boehner wants all of this to go down on Thursday so less people watch Obama's speech.

Frick him for wanting to screw up my ability to watch the B&G start their run towards a title.
ive always been indifferent about the government - but if they preempt my saints for this, ima be livid.

You can trust the government for 1 thing only -- to screw up your life in every way possible.

You're talking about Boehner, right? It's his idea.
The White House wants to do this on Wednesday when more people will be paying attention to them and not watching football.
