As many of you probably know, many teams faked cramps to slow down Oregon's O. Pretty pathetic if you ask me, but I'm not exactly unbiased. To your conference's credit, I don't think Tennessee or Auburn did.
So my question is, how will you feel if lsu employs this tactic? Is it cowardly or crafty?

And since I know you guys are so fond of links, here's a video of Cal doing it.

It's smart football! Do whatever is necessary to win the game. It will not work against us we have been practicing all offseason for it.

Gimmick offenses deserve gimmicks on defense.

I think the University of Oregon has already proven that you do whatever it takes to win. Up to and including paying $25,000 for three year old recruit films to get the players you want directed to your university. So, I would have to say faking cramps is crafty

I feel that the hurry up offense is kinda cheap.

If you are doing something cheap you shouldn't be pissed when someone else does something cheap to combat it. JMO of course.

It isn't cheating unless you think holding or jumping offsides is cheating. It is called 5 yard delay of game penalty.

I hear ya. This wasn't meant to be a leading question. I think you can make arguments for both sides. I asked Auburn fans the same question pregame, and they were almost unanimous in calling it cowardly, which I found interesting.

MY next door neighbor went to Auburn and has a big Auburn flag out front. He fakes cramps so he doesn,t have to do yard work.

If a dl is about to flatten your qb and you hold him.... is that cheating?

I disagree - it's an innovation and definitely different, but not cheap. They run it well, and to great effect, and it's within the rules. That said, I'm fairly certain our defense can keep up with it, particularly given the extra time they've had to prepare, so no worries....

The only thing that matters is the final score.
Two years ago at the very end of the Cap One Bowl one of Penn States D-lineman was clearly laying on top of our O-lineman in order to delay the game. We ended up being penalized when another LSU player physically pullled him off the guy pushing us out of FG range.
In the presser after the game the player was asked about it and he said - We won the game. Nothing else matters.

An LSU fan playing the Willie lyles card against Oregon? I didn't see that coming, haha.

Also, I think it's a personal foul before it's delay of game, but probably neither. Worth pointing out the cal coordinator who took the blame for it got canned in its wake. So i think generally it's at least frowned upon.

I wonder if I asked the question differently to the Auburn fans or if the opinions just differ from fanbase to fanbase.
