they will be a force! No doubt in my mind.
Having said that, I'm not sure Mike Sherman is the man to do it though!

We already recruit well but no doubt the move will help land more blue chips. Like you pointed out though, I think winning in the SEC will depend more on our coaching staff than our recruiting. This year will tell a lot about Sherman and what he's about, there is no reason to believe he isn't the right man for the challenge.

You may recruit well for the Big 12, but it'll need to get alot better for the SEC.

2007- 10 SEC teams outrecruited you.
2008- 4 SEC teams outrecruited you.
2009- 9 SEC teams outrecruited you.
2010- 6 SEC teams outrecruited you.
2011- 9 SEC teams outrecruited you.

Only once in the last five years would you have even been in the upper half of the conference in recruiteing. You will need to do better. This aint the big 12.

Arky begs to differ. You cant make chicken salad with chicken shite. You better recruit top 10 if you're gonna win this league. There's a reason Arky has been here twenty years and hasnt won shite.

I think most A&M fans know we need to recruit better, at least I do. I think in the latest 2012 rankings we would 2nd or 3rd in the SEC, we have a great class coming in. If we add on a big season this year, it should only continue in 2013. I think most people are banking on the SEC thing helping our future recruiting- there's obviously no way to really know if this is true, but I think it could definitely happen.

The point is that we're trending up as far as recruiting goes, and we will be located in the best recruiting ground in the SEC with the possible exception of Florida. We definitely have the potential to recruit very well if we take care of our shite.

Aggy is delusional as always. Once the SEC starts raiding their territory en masse like UT and OU already are they may learn but probably not. This is good for A&M's ego but not the trophy case. As if they had much of one anyway.

I was talking about our school in general, kinda saying that our recruiting is already strong (not saying it doesn't need improvement) but our coaching is what has been the problem area in our recent past. Franchione had a few top 10 recruiting classes himself... didn't really pan out. Regarding Arkansas, recruiting is definitely a bigger issue for them compared to us (location). Even in arguably our worst decade of football (the last 10 years) Arky has only finished ahead of us a few times in recruiting (Accoring to rivals rankings) We've had many recent down years on the field, but our recruiting this year looks to be very strong again after last season.

Oh, and you're right sip, The Ags move to the SEC will have no impact on ours or your recruiting.... Being the lone SEC team in Texas will hold no advantage. I mean "You're Texas" right? BTW How'd the debut of the LHN go tonight? Or did you even get to watch?

and by no means was I trying to justify that our recent recruiting would be enough to win in the SEC. Saying that, It has really picked up the last year or so and if we are as good as I think were going to be this season then I see only more improvement in that regard. Also, the move to the conference will be extremely beneficial for kids who want to play in the best conference in the nation and also stay home. Dalton Santos being a perfect example.

The extra exposure the conference is getting in Texas is already paying off for us. Santos and McNeil never would have been Vols a few years ago.

Scavenger hunt:
1. Find the LHN

Seriously though, the SEC as a selling point is a bigger recruiting advantage than the LHN. Sherman is an excellent coach...Y'all realize he was a more successful NFL coach than petrino(biggest quitter ever), Saban, and Spurrier right?
boom, headshot.

Considering aTm has sucked their whole history except when they had Bear Bryant or Jackie Sherrill cheating their asses off, I'm not that worried.

I thought playing in the SEC was a big reason Santos chose Tennessee. If A&M was here, I'm not sure he would pick UT.

FWIW, He's since stated that he wouldn't change, he seems to really like UT. Time will tell though...

Look at my sig you fricking idiot.

"Favorite team" on TD doesn't mean much, especially when it's a random arse school like SMU.

We already have a top 5 recruiting class for 2012 and that was after a 9-4 season. With a 10-11 win season this year, and with an imminent move to the SEC, it will only get better.

This is to funny.

Arkansas dominates TAMU in the all time series while we took kids from Houston every single year having exposure in Houston about Arkansas.

We will start again showing kids how much better Arkansas is than TAMU. TAMU always out-recruited us but could never beat Arkansas more of the same for the past 100 years.

Thank you TAMU for helping Arkansas football again. You really aren't helping yourself the best kids in Texas will still go to Texas and OU over TAMU good luck with that pipe dream you are building.

You are right. The vast majority of Texas elite high school players will choose to play for t.u, even though they are on a downward spiral (if you think they are getting more than 7 wins this year, then I'd like to have some of that bud), and the other flagship school in the state plays in the SEC. Yup, A&M recruiting will not improve at all, and after the Big 12 implodes OU will still be recruiting a shite load of Texas kids. You are so right, pig.

Mike Sherman>bobby petrino. That simple.
A pipe dream is believing Arkansas will ever be relevant in anything, much less the SEC.

Come on man Cassius they at least went to a BCS bowl game, and Sherman is 0-2 so I wouldn't make those kind of statements just yet.
