Will Miami's impending doom expedite FSU's move to the SEC?

With the ACC losing even more relevance.

I can see where you are coming from....makes sense. My question is will FL and the other SEC schools that have only one team per state vote for them? I suspect that FL, GA, SC, and KY are working together to keep other schools in their state from entering the SEC such as FSU, GA Tech, Lville, Clemson. I don't think LSU and AR are too worried about another team from their states...so can FSU get the votes. I doubt AL or AU really want them in the SEC as well.

Florida has a huge population. If bama, miss, and tenn can accommodate two SEC teams, no reason Fla can't.

I'm sure it's a possibility. I'd love to be a fly on the wall it so many different offices right now.

I would guess yes, but could it also mean that the ACC would want to expand after Miami gets the electric chair to gain relevance again??

They'd go after South Florida to replace the Florida market / recruiting ground lost along with The U and Free Shoes, then they'd probably take a Pitt or Rutgers to give them another solid school in a major media market.

Strategically, could be a good recruiting move for the SEC. With the rise of the middle FL schools, having UF and FSU in the SEC will establish it as the 100% go to choice for FL players. ACC would be a distant, distant 2nd.

frick FSU. We don't want them.

IMHO, the events are not linked. Miami IS NOT going to get the death penalty, but even if they did, the ACC could go get a team from the Big East if needed.
FSU would be crazy to join the SEC, where in most years they'd be a middle-of-the-division team fighting to get to Atlanta. They can stay where they are & own the ACC along with VaTech.
I also believe the "voting bloc" theory that UF, UGA, & USCe have agreed to vote against FSU, GaTech, or Clempson joining the SEC.

Great question. It could if they're serious about the move. Fl/Fl St as a SEC Game ! The SEC E would move a step closer to the W if it happened.

I could argue either way. With Miami's downfall, and you can add NC's problems, FSU becomes more important than ever to ACC football. I don't know ACC politics, but it would give them more influence in this basketball heavy conference.
