same state when 6 of the SEC schools already have another school from its state in the SEC.

Seems scared and weak.

You would think when a Florida or SC would complain about a FSU or Clemson, the administrations from Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, MSU, Tennessee & Vandy would say tough titty.

they can't. All seems like butthurt homers (meaning fans) to me, JMO

no one is blocking anyone else, not really the way this conference has operated in the past, generally everyone backs each other and goes for the common good

Whatever Slive says, the presidents will be behind him. As long as it benefits all 12 existing members, plus any future members, the SEC will expand with the teams Slive chooses.

And one school acting alone can't block an invite to another school. The SEC requires 9 of the 12 members schools to issue an invite. So, if Florida is the only school not wanting FSU, they then need to coerce at least 3 other schools to see things their way.

Don't incoming schools have to get votes from 9 of the 12 SEC members to receive an offer?

That's 6. LSU & Arky make 8.

If UF, USCe, UK, & UGA make a pact not to allow Clemson, Ga Tech, FSU, or Louisville, that would be enough to block any of those schools.
It doesn't leave very many options for a 14th member in the East.

This is what I fear. I would like A&M plus an FSU or Clemson. And call it a day at 14 teams.

I'm not convinced FSU wants in. They have the easiest road to the BCS that I can think of outside of Boise State.

They really hurt their chances running through the SEC gauntlet.

UF fans don't want to help a rival. That's it. There's nothing to be scare of since we play them yearly and recruiting against them already.

Hell yeah!! I would buy season tickets immediately.

I heard on the radio the other day that you can get a season ticket package for $72 right now.

Give it a couple of years and they seriously might be. I could see GSU getting quite the following in Atlanta as the years go by. I know I had thought about going to grad school there at one point myself.

Florida and Georgia will vote together - amongst all the hate and butthurt from UGA and jorts and mullets from Phlarda, Foley and McGarity and Machen and Adams generally stay within close proximity of each other's asses.

South Carolina can be seduced by the potential to prison shank Clemson.

And Vandy will play along because Florida said so.

Do you think being in the SEC would help them out with recruiting?

i wrote just after that how that UGA may have done it because it may be detrimental. more so FSU though, sure Clemson is close but they don't worry me recruiting-wise as FSU does.

i just want that rivalry back

they're already recruiting lights out so maybe not too much but UF always has that "SEC card" to whip out

but what he means by not helping them he means getting them the additional revenue, prestige, and etc that coming to the SEC would give FSU.
