@sportsbybrooks Less than no chance FSU, Clemson, GT invited to SEC. (See UF, USCe, UGA.) Never a consideration.
@sportsbybrooks Oklahoma is linchpin for SEC/Big 12. Period. If they go to SEC, OKSU, A&M go too and perhaps VT. Big 12 up in smoke overnight.
@sportsbybrooks DINGDINGDINGDINGDING give that man a ceegar! RT @travismv: @SPORTSbyBROOKS So, UF is blocking FSU.
@sportsbybrooks Oklahoma is #1 on Slive's list. Massive realignment runs through Norman, Oklahoma.
@sportsbybrooks Oklahoma is, as they say on Wall Street, a market mover. A&M is not. (As I wrote here a month ago.)
@sportsbybrooks We will get realignment when interests of schools/leagues/TV align. ALL 3. A singular A&M entry into SEC had no chance from beginning.
@sportsbybrooks If Texas knew it couldnt air H.S. and Big 12 games when it signed LHN deal, think it wouldve gone thru w/ it? Or ESPN for that matter?
@sportsbybrooks 1st consideration not markets or $. It's about current ppl in control staying in control while getting paid ridiculous sums. As they do now.

He trolls messageboards for his info. Not saying that he's going to be proven wrong, but I don't think he has some great insight or excellent sources.

He's talking out of his arse.

I wouldn't mind Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. But damn, adding some western power. Auburn/Bama to the east?

brooks has no sources. oklahoma will not entertain an offer from sec- hell they already tried to go big 10. and we all know texas has their balls in their back pockets anyway.....

That would be the ideal situation. Too bad it won't happen.

my take - SEC ready to invite Texas A&M when the 14th school is lined up, and not before.
also, the SEC wants a team that will align with the East.
ALthough I haven't heard the name mentioned, Louisville makes sense to me. SC will veto Clemson, Ga vetoes Ga TEch, Fla doesn't want Florida State. Va Tech is a big winner in the ACC every year - why do they want to move?

Brooks has been pretty good about getting stories out there that ESPN wouldn't run with, but some of those tweets don't make much sense.

By that logic, Kentucky would veto Louisville.

people, for the love of god, we'll only invite teams that will actually bring money into the conference!

So no to Sewanee and Tulane?

I like Brooks and he does well with the violation stuff, but I don't think he is hooked in to the conference realignment sources. That type of info just seems above his paygrade.

Probably. I wouldn't mind it really, but I don't think UL would want to come anyways from what I've read. Plus, culturally it's not a good fit. It's an urban commuter school with a lot of non traditional students. Their stadium is small and when they're not doing well they have a real hard time getting it anywhere near capacity.

The bold part reminds me of FSU.

Yea, except UL's stadium holds about 30k less. Then again UL has a much smaller fanbase to begin with. Only about 50% of Louisville's population are UL fans. The other half are UK fans.

How much would A&M hate the SEC if we added OU-OSU and then left them out in the cold?

Your right that is some crazy logic. With that logic how did Miss St. and Ole Miss get in. The only thing stopping this is the #13. You need 14 or 16 to make it work from an alignment and scheduling standpoint in my opinion. Its going to happen when the right teams get the invitation that the conference sees that regular revenue, TV revenues, and quote unquote academic concerns are answered in expansion. But of course only the first two matter.
The Top 4 big conferences with 16 teams will make the NCAA happy. And then they may be ready to talk a playoff system.
