they had 4 regular season losses in 2009, 3 in 2007. the Big east had a dominant team in 2007 (West Virginia), and had shite in 2009. so no, that statement is fully incorrect

Dominating in the big east is not very impressive.

No, it's not.

yes, it is

i'm watching the highlights form that game. every arky score follows:

1st TD: option run DMac (hillis blocked way outside left, DMac ran right-center)
2nd TD: option run DMac (hillis did have a nice block)

after this LSU keyed in on DMac and arky played off of this with option and play action

3rd TD: option run Hillis (wasn't even "wild hog"...DMac was just playing QB in a 3 man option backfield)
4th TD: option play action pass to hillis
5th TD: TD pass to hillis (wheel route from the slot. good route)
6th TD: DMac run out of the ace

They lost to Pitt. A sucky Pitt team.

There is no doubt that it is highly likely.

Did anyone ever explain how this is wrong? TIA

a. what does the 2009 UConn team have to do with the 2007 UConn team?

b. how was the 2009 UConn team better?

those were your 2 points. don't try to change it up again

no other team in 2007 had a combination of option, spread, and pressure-based D except UF

we barely beat UF (at home), and WV was a better version of UF

Here's a handy link for you to re-watch each score: LINK

Missed the mark widely on a number of these plays-- here's just one of them, just to show how far off the mark your 'option' assessment is-

TD #1 - McFadden fakes a handoff, then runs a standard power play-- not an option. Watch the single block on the strongside end designed to turn him out, the double on the inside DT, and the leaving of the mike. A true option look there would have had the TE downblock on the DT, and the tackle or a pulling guard would be responsible for playing through traffic and slowing the mike, leaving the DE to make the read against the ball and a play. That's option football, and is most definitely not what occurred on that play.

You confuse motion and formation for the option offense repeatedly.

1, which is as many as the ACC and Big 10 have and 1 more than the PAC 10 has (or they would be tied if you stil count USC's)

Who's says I'm changing anything up. Why don't you quit deflecting and tell me how many titles the Big East has in the BCS era? Better yet, what is their record in BCS games? The SEC is 15-6.

The Big East has 1 title in the BCS era... again, as many championship game wins as the Big 10, ACC, and Pac 10

SEC: 7
ACC: 1
Big East: 1
Big 10: 1
Big 12: 2
Pac 12: 1 (really zero)

when you have a man in motion and you fake hand it off to him, then keep it, that is, by definition, the option

if you're in option and you choose to hand it off to the first "option," then it's still an option play

A true option look there would have had the TE downblock on the DT,

in a traditional set perhaps. the option is being reinvented in college football and the rules of the 60s t-bone flex don't always apply

Yeah, and it was Miami, who was in the ACC way before 2007.

did you watch LSU in 2007?

are you going to tell me LSU did well against spread looks, option looks, or mobile QBs?

are you going to tell me LSU handled defenses that pressured from different angles well?
