UF Pres says no action on A&M, satistied with 12 teams

Full statement
Statement from Dr. Bernie Machen, Chair, Southeastern Conference Presidents and Chancellors:
“The SEC Presidents and Chancellors met today and reaffirmed our satisfaction with the present 12 institutional alignment. We recognize, however, that future conditions may make it advantageous to expand the number of institutions in the league. We discussed criteria and process associated with expansion. No action was taken with respect to any institution including Texas A&M.”

i agree with uf on this. conference expansion doesn't need to happen.
12 team conferences are fine. 14 is to many in football

I saw that also, Machen should have not said anything because everyone knows it is a done deal. He is just pissed about FSU to the SEC right now.

and it makes sense that uf doesn't want that.
im not so sure why miss state, uk and ole miss aren't screaming over conf expansion. its really going to hurt them if we go to 16 teams

FOR NOW SEC saving face all it is. We didnt help destroy a conference.
A&M will meet and vote the move to SEC and we will say yes. We didn't go looking for them.

I wouldn't be surprised by this. The SEC is a great conference as it is, why expand? This is very beneficial for A&M but what do the SEC schools get out of this?
