Am I the only one that doesn't like this? The SEC is expanding to include Florida St., Clemson, aTm, and Mizzou.

You guys can beat your chests and act as if most of these teams are just average football programs and will basically be more punching bags for the top teams in the SEC.

IMO, none of these teams are automatic wins each year. Do you guys not feel like this is even more difficult hurdles to get over in conference than what we have already? The conference is already absolutely brutal. You add these teams and everyone will be even more beat up than what they are now.

Once this "Superconference" is complete, I think we're going to start seeing more 2-3 loss teams atop this conference. This is going to be absolutely ridiculous to get through this type of gauntlet unscathed. 2-3 losses mean less National Championships for the simple fact that these other conferences are in no way this deep.

That's just a thought.

The things that stands out to me is that all of those fanbases are full of awkward.

I don't like Mizzou or aTm joining. Sure it brings money but other then that meh.

FSU and Clemson would be alright.

The main thing this expansion will do is unite Tigerdropping posters to stop bitching at one another and haze the new kids. Which would be refreshing.

i agree. however, i set my sights on going to atlanta every year. if we do, then i consider it a perfect year. in this case, with the addition of these other teams, it will make for a great sec season.

I love it. I believe we need to be proactive rather than reactive. I know that they will not be easy games and Im not of the camp that LSU and other SEC schools are far superior to the 4 but maybe im from the ole school (graduated from LSU in 1983) and I love the competition that these schools will bring not only in football, but other sports as well such as Track and Field, Basketball both men and womens and b aseball as well as softball. Will make for some great new rivalries and may just cut back on some of these so called rent a win games among SEC schools. Not to say that each school deserves a patsy now and then but will at least cut down on an overabudance of these games. I still have my LSU season tickets eventhough I now live out of state and I let my brother in law and his family go to the games but he is not excited with paying me when we have a full slate of games against schools that he considers Rent a wins.

I don't like it either. At least not until I hear what they'll do about cross division rivalries.

I doubt anyone from the ACC comes over. They will fight tooth and nail to keep their current teams.

The landscape of college football will soon change. The PAC 12, Big 10, and another conference will go to 16 teams. At some point there will be a playoff and the 4 super conference winners will be a part of it.

What is going to make it really difficult is the fact that there will only be 1-2 OOC games, meaning less rent-a-wins and barely any breaks.

All you lemmings will stand around and chant SEC at the drop of the hat but when the conference does something that might (big might btw) affect your schools "standing" you cry and moan and bitch

unreal. This is being pro-active. The SEC out in front- AGAIN

and a bunch of whiny bitches- kinda sad and pitiful if you ask me, lost what little respect I had for some of you

I'm one than doesn't like it. The SEC was already the best conference and the toughest. Why change a good thing.

The problem is that the other conferences know the SEC is the best and they are going to snatch up the other teams to form the super conferences, so the SEC has to act or be left behind.

This argument was used prior to '92. We've done okay since then.

SOS should go up, easily. There has been talk the last few years of how a 2-loss SEC team would get the nod over a 1-loss Big Ten, Big XII, etc. team for a spot in the BCSNCG. And LSU proved it in '07.

this. That 2 loss team that non-LSU fans love to bitch about kills all of these arguments about oh now it'll be harder

grow a pair you vags

eta: and all you screaming about only 1 or 2 OOC games, please- that's free revenue, my guess is they go 8 game sec schedule, 7 division games and one perm rival....not that hard

I don't really care who comes, but I disagree with the whole conference expansion crap.

IMO this move will make the SEC weaker than it's currently.

Which one loss teams did LSU get the nod over?

Forget all about projected W-L records, tradition, who's going to block who, that's all BS.

You can believe one true thing: Brother Slive is only looking at the money. And in college football the money is in television ratings.

So... which teams bring added market, especially major markets? Who's located between Houston, San Antonio and Dallas? Who's located between Kansas City and St. Louis? Finally, who is located in market areas already dominated by the SEC and therefore bring nothing to the table but the need to divide the revenue even more?

The fans may want teams closer to the traditional SEC turf, but Brother Slive could not care less what the fans think. Look at major media markets not currently dominated by the SEC, that's where we're going.
