Marlins bought a World Series. Yankees bought all theirs too.

Celtics bought their last championship.

USC bought an AP title.

Why can't the Eagles? I think the media is full of shite on this one

Because you cant buy championships in football...there is a hard cap and a floor so it's not a matter of outspending. The eagles are signing wash-ups that have 1-2, and in some cases ZERO, productive years left...it's all name recognition and no substance

Whoever argued for VY pointing out his 30-17 record as a starter...you're a bona fide fricking moron

First, I can see Vick regressing this year as the defenses now have a year of tape on him and will be able to make some adjustments, not unlike teams were able to do in his first stint in the league
This is pretty fricking stupid IMO.

how is this stupid?... Vick's first year as starter for the Falcons, he should have been the MVP of the league, but he was satisfied, etc...

never was good in ATL again

This year will tell you alot about the real Mike Vick. He has his contracts and endorsements back...let's see if he remains consistent

dude, hes a freakin back up.

this.
oh and he's a backup that went 30-17 as a starter. If you ask me, he's probably one of the best backups in the NFL right now.

How many backups in the league have insecurity issues so bad that their head coach had to send the cops to do a welfare call on them?

VY couldn't handle the boo birds at Titans games when he was playing inconsistently, to the point where Fisher was scared that Young would make a suicide attempt.

The last place someone like that should play is in Philly given their harsh reputation and their love-hate relationship with Donovan McNabb.

nah, it was all hate. How many times can you watch a guy miss open receivers, or fail when the game is on the line?

but you're probably a JJ fan.

I was trying to find a polite way to say "have booed the guy since he was picked instead of Ricky Williams."

Not to say that McNabb hasn't deserved it at times for being a huge pussy or blowing games, but he and the fans there didn't exactly start off on the right foot.

The funny thing is, most of it makes very little sense.

None of the Eagles FAs did any sort of spectacle "Look at me, look where I'm signing!" type of deal.

Hell, they've only signed one truly high profile guy, in Asomugha, and he's one of the most well-respected, quality guys in the league.

None of them said they were going to win 10 championships. In fact, one of their rivals is the only one talking, proclaiming they were gonna "Beat that arse."

Hating a team and people because you don't like the way ESPN covers them is pretty ridiculous.

It will suck bad for them when Vick gets hurt (because he always does), and Vince Young gets to come in and lose a couple of games. Then, they'll have to come to New Orleans and play the Saints in the Dome. That will be bad for the Eagles.

How is that? The Eagles are the better team. Hell New Orleans very well could finish 3rd in its own division this year. Don't get why you guys act like the Eagles are so vulnerable to injuries and the Saints aren't. Brees goes down and your season is over.

I am pretty sure that they deserve the spotlight right now, since they are signing so many players.

Also, everyone is "Holy shite, the Eagles signed fricking Joe Blow the Denver Broncos back-up tackle! This is not even fair!" Obviously, they had a lot of room to add the players.

I hated the Eagles when they were more known for beating the shite out of opposing fans, puking all over the place, and throwing snowballs, not making rational signings and acquiring free agent talent.

You can't buy a superbowl. I think it's very possible that so many personalities and big heads can cause that team to collapse. Let them lose 2-3 games in a row and see what happens

EXACTLY!!!!! To many Superstars can bring a team WAY DOWN.

this is all working perfectly. The Eagles are putting the media attention and the bullseye on their own back. The cowboys are going to be the 'underdog" this year. Love it. eagles gonna fall hard.
