What's a good cocktail to drink if you have a kidney stone? I was thinking anything mixed with cranberry juice.

As much cranberry as you can. If you know the stone is passable keep moving, do not stay still. If you are still the stone will settle and you dont want that. If your in pain over a week see a urologist. I have had quite a few run-ins with these F'rs.. last one was 11mm

I've never had one, but my old man did. His doc told him to drink one beer every evening and he would't have any more issues - and he hasn't.

(NOTE: ONE beer... not 6.)

Oh good. At least I'll never have to worry about kidney stones.

I can see the point in drinking alcohol bc it is a diuretic and it will help to flush your kidneys, but make sure you also get your share of some water in. If you dehydrate then your pain will increase. One of the first things we do for stone patients is load them up with as much fluid as possible.

When I had mine, my urologist told me to drink as much beer as possible over the weekend. No joke.

Go to your urologist immediately and beg him to give you the maximum fast acting pain med he can and keep it with you at all times. When that bitch hits you, you're gonna need it. Worse pain in the world. When I had mine I wanted to die waiting in the ER for 3 hours.

I've heard it's worse than having a baby. One lady I know could only get on her hands and knees and could not get up to walk.
