NOLA is pretty good stuff..There wheat beer is my favorite that they make, but I think Parish is better..I was in Lafayette yesterday and had some Canebrake(this is starting to be one of my new favorites)..There Biere Amber is pretty good too.

I've always wanted to try Parish Brewery, but I haven't been able to find it in New Orleans. For now at least, NOLA Brewery is hands down the best in Louisiana.

Yes, I don't think any other LA brewery can compete across the board.

I agree with this. Parish's one beer out right now that I think is just as good as anything by NOLA, but it's one beer and only in the Lafayette area.

I'd definitely take NOLA over the other Louisiana breweries.

How long do you reckon those mini kegs they sell stay good for?

They have an amber but I've never seen it outside of a beer festival. They should be sending beer to BR by the end of the year from what I hear.

I was told he had to discontinue it until the new brewery is done because the demand for Canebrake was too high.

I really like their wheat.

Me too. I've been drinking the Blonde quite a lot lately. Brown is also solid in my opinion. I did not care for the Hopitoulas, but as someone else mentioned, I'm just one of those people that's not an IPA drinker.

He just posted that on his Facebook page this morning.

As far as NOLA goes, haven't had a bad beer from them yet. I love the hop, red and stout.

I don't even think the brewpub in NOLA can brew in house thanks to the archaic laws.

??? Crescent City does it. I've seen fermenters (i think that's what they were) at Gordon Biersch

They must have some sort of way around the laws... they might have an exclusive deal with a distributor to sell their beer and buy it all back. They aren't allowed to sell directly to the public unless they are grandfathered in or something.

I don't know about Gordon Biersch, but the fermenters at BJ's are just for show... Abita brewpub too.

Hmmm, I stand corrected, apparently if they make less that 12,500 barrels they are allowed to sell direct to the public. That must be why Abita separates the two, they are probably way over that amount.
