What type of seafood in particular? What price range/atmosphere?

I would drive about 30 mins to Convent Lousiana on the river to a place called Hymel's. You can thank me later.

Baked. Blackened. Something a little more upscale. Dont want any fried catfish nonsense.

Lagniappe, Juban's or Roberto's would be high on the list

If you really want the BEST dining experience, I'd suggest Juban's.

Juban's or Lagniappe for the higher end.

Parrain's for a little more casual, but still good food.

I'd pass on Juban's.

I'd go French Market Bistro first, then LA Lagniappe, then Mansur's. If you want a little more casual then I'd go Parrains, and even more casual Sammy's.

About 10 years ago my wife and I ate there and the gumbo tasted like brown gravy over rice with a crab claw thrown in for flavor. If I remember right the service was horrible also along with the rest of the food. It might have gotten better, it might have been a bad day, but I never have plans to go back…
