Slap Ya Momma Seasoning

After seeing it praised several times on here I finally picked up a can at the store a few days ago. I've been a lifelong Tony's user so it kills me to say this, but SYM is a much better tasting, less salty seasoning blend. I'm in love with the flavor, more like Tony's more spice but with less salt. I doubt I'll ever go back to Tony's now, but we had a good run. Thanks to the F&D board for opening my eyes

The Winn-Dixie in Covington has a wall of local spices and products, and last time I bought a can of Tony's I stood there and pondered the existential ramifications of trying something new -- SYM specifically.
Alas, I did not pull the trigger, as my angst got the better of me. Perhaps next time will be the tipping point.

it's all i use. be careful not to pull the red can by accident. make sure it's the yellow one. the red one will make you want to wipe your arse with a snowball in the morning.
i only use tony's on french fries. it's my salt substitute.

Factual statement. If you use the red blend like you would normal Tony's you will regret it.
The white pepper blend of Slap Ya Mama is pretty awesome too.

They have a white pepper blend? Must talk to grocery manager today.

I made the switch not too long ago too. One of my friends swore it was better than Tony's, and I didn't listen to him for the longest time. The lower salt taste does it for me.

Dude. I have always told you about SYM!
If you want something better than both, grab a bottle of NuNu's. shite is amazing.

Seasoning is good, can't say the same for the crawfish boil

I've been using SYM for several years now, getting Tonys lately for a change and I also see where they have lowered their prices and started a little price war, but SYM is def better

Might want to edit, you're coming off as human.

Love me some Slap Ya Mama. They were (still are, kinda) the official Cajun Seasoning of the Third Row Tailgaters!

6 Years ago when I moved back from PA I gave SYM a try and I have not bought or used Tony's since. And I have used Tony's since I started cooking.
To me (and most everyone else), Tony's is too salty. SYM allows you to control the salt while adding other seasonings.

Yessir I made the switch a couple of months ago. I get the extra hot kind, it's awesome.

Bah buncha wimps!
I use the red can. I just don't go apeshit with the seasoning. I can use less seasoning to obtain heat.

that was my point. you see, my wife bought the red can by accident and i didn't pay attention to the can very much. all i knew was that the sym cans were red and yellow. so, i used the red can like i usually use the yellow one while seasoning a roast. holy shite!!!!

You mentioned it a few times but I wouldn't say you stressed it. Either way I'll give you partial credit for my switch. And I'd like to try NuNu's, but its not sold in LC that I know of

I don't use seasonings mixes too often, but SYM is good. I like the white pepper blend better than the original, but I'm a white pepper fan.
