This point deserves to be underscored. It doesnt matter where we have been the last 6 to 10 years, especially in the last 6 years, LSU has been looked upon to be the 'Giant-killer' like OSU was against OU when was Les was their. When the Gators were winning, and now with Auburn and Alabama, all those teams circle LSU on their schedule because they know our boys always are pumped up for the game and give it their best.

LSU is not a "giant killer", they are a giant. Oklahoma State belongs nowhere in any conversation with LSU.

The dumbest statement ever. I can't remember the last quote "giant killer" to win 2 titles in less than a decade. Maybe all the giants should worry about that giant killer Bama next season.

There are A LOT of OU and OSU fans that cussed this morning seeing their papers and Les' face was on the front of the sports page.

Obviously, he brought some key recruits in and things like that, but it was more the attitude that he displayed and what he wanted us to display. Les would look you right in the face and say, ‘People don't think we can win this game, but I guarantee you, whoever we play is going to limp home.'

“Les could talk you into running through a wall,” Mayes said. “He could tell you that you could run through a brick wall, and 10 minutes into that talk you were bound and determined to do it."

It is absolutely true. That program was God-awful til he got ahold of it. Miles beat Stoops twice in a time when Stoops didn't lose nearly at all. He did this with far inferior talent and far inferior facilities. The year they beat an undefeated OU team in Norman despite being well under .500 is one of the great upsets in recent history (Stoops currently hasn't lost in Norman since 2005).

They were bad. Miles didn't exactly light the world on fire though. Once he got a hold of it, they went 4-7, 8-5, 9-4, and 7-5. Pretty mediocre. Not to mention he lost 5 of his last 7 then we offered him the job.

Big Game Bob.

In Mike Gundy's 6th year Oklahoma State went 11-2, to put things in perspective.

OSU had one winning season in about a decade and a half prior to Miles taking over. There have been seasons when they barely won any games or none at all. Miles turned OSU around and he was the one that brought in Gundy who became his successor. OSU was god awful and even worse off than LSU when Saban took over.

Take a look at the facility upgrades since Miles left to put things in more perspective. FWIW, Gundy is often heard giving Miles his props for getting the resurgance started.
