You could name about half a dozen teams that have won the Super Bowl in the last ten years. The Super Bowl winning teams of today are vastly inferior to the teams who used to win Super Bowls from years past.

At least 'Nova and Fresno State won the games they needed to win a title. BYU was giftwrapped the '84 title.
Whether or not it is considered real, it is recognized by the major media outlets of the time. The same that recognize everyone else's pre-BCS titles.

You could use any team from 2007 though really.
Maybe not WVU had they run the table, but thats about it IMO; think everyone agrees OSU wasnt that great.
