I remember the cafeteria was in the basement of Hatcher.

Exactly. The Pub was right next to the cafeteria. One night a friend of mine and I were having a beer at The Pub. We both lived in Johnston. We were sitting at a small table near the door. He tells me, "Go hold the door open for me." I gave him a look like a cow staring at a new gate. "Go get the door!" he says. Ok, so I go open the door and stand aside. He grabs the table and dashes out of The Pub. He needed the table for his room.

These stories make me jealous. LSU isn't 'cool' as it was in the 70s-early 90s. Wanted to change our image as a party school.

The kids now have been "nannied" so much. Many of the people I was in school with worked and paid for school all on their own. Their parents didn't help them and had told them when they were growing up that at 18 they were on their own.
