So what. I feel Payton always gives up too much in trading up, he never trades down. I don't think Payton values draft choices very highly, he is too quick to get rid of them.

Uh...it's proof of trading up working which is the point of this thread? Are you lost?

Anyway, under Payton/Loomis how much have we traded up? Ellis, Ingram, and ? We've traded down in later rounds, even the second.

Anyone think we trade a 2012 pick to get back into the 4th-6th round this year?

This regime doesn't require a ton of picks to get the players they need. Their hit rate is high enough to justify trading around like they do. Are you honestly complaining about the player acquisition skills of this regime? You must be a fairly young Saints fan if you have any doubts about the way Payton and Loomis do things. They are far and away the best this organization has ever seen and they're pretty good compared to their peers around the league too.

I trust the Saints FO.

The picks from the first 3 rounds since 2006 (what is now considered the top two rounds).

Bush RB/WR
Harper S
Meachem WR
Young DB
Alleman G
Ellis DT
Porter CB
Jenkins DB
Robinson CB
Brown OT
Graham TE
Jordan DE
Ingram RB

That is a damn solid list and we have two 3rd round pick today.
