What is expected out of ZMett is also unfair to him. He is being billed as the savior of the program. So many fans are convinced Mett is gonna take over the starting spot next year

As was what was expected out of JL in his 1st season and as what was expected out of JJ in his 1st season.

How can I be "convinced Mett is gonna take over the starting spot" when he hasn't taken his 1st live snap in big time college football, faced his 1st BCS pass rush, or taken LSU on it's 1st scoring drive against anyone???

He looked pretty good in a no contact/no blitz scrimmage, but I'm gonna have to see what happens when the guys attacking him want to smash him and not just wave an arm in his direction and he has QBed us to some wins before I bill his as anything other than a sub.

Mett is one of us now and I wish nothing but the best for him, but starting QB or savior just yet he hasn't come close to proving he deserves to be labeled. imo

Balls get swatted in real games too so 10-14 is a joke. I appreciate your optimism and I wish I could share it. But I'm a realist and the kid hasn't improved in three years . There should have been some improvement before now. By your concept of krag helping, then why not focus on mett an turn him into a world beater. 3 years to win 3 titles.

Jefferson looked pathetic in the same scrimmage. Where is the gamble? Mett could be bad and still be better than jj.

The sec part is true and the other is debatable. That comment was out of frustration. Even realists have weak moments haha.

Just get out now and leave it to the rest of us. I love the cry babies and how much worry displayed.

You are kidding...right?

Anyway, I'm not eager to throw Mett under the bus cause we fans want gamble that he's our best option.....now, if our coaching staff decides that after fall practice, that's a different story.

Who gives a shite? None of that is pertinent information.

Look, I'm not arguing that JJ is tons better or he's going to come out and be amazing. I'm saying he's improving. I wish Mett would beat him out too, just like any of us. But the world is not going to end.

QB situation still not settled and could be a catastrophe if not managed properly.
How is it not settled? JJ is the starter, he will stay the starter, and he will make Oregon look like actual ducks in game 1.

I agree with starting JJ. The worst thing would could do is throw Mett in there and get his confidence beat up and have another JLee for the next 3yrs.
