There was a sketch in the earlier years with billy crystal as sammy davis and he was on a 25000 pyramid type show. Christopher Guest was the contestant and it still cracks me up when I just think about it.

I also loved Hartman's 'Chameleon XLE' - the car that looks like crap on the outside but is a luxury vehicle on the inside.

That one was hilarious. The Billy Crystal, Martin Short, Christopher Guest years were the absolute best. Eddie Murphy, though, was the best single performer.

also, there's been a skit in the recent past where guys are in a bar and singing along with some song (i think "amie" and "danny's song" are the ones i remember) and they start telling stories that eventually go horribly wrong. i always thought the bit lent itself to improv but at the same time you had to be done with your part by the time the chorus came around. it was always put on the back end of a show but i always thought it was brilliant. can't find clips anywhere.

Colonel Angus (by Tina Fey) is the greatest writing ever on SNL IMO. Schweddy Balls is second.

Church Lady and The Spartan Cheerleaders were my favorites.

I also liked the more recent Mom Jeans commercial.

Ohh and Mary Katherine Gallagher had her moments.

Doesn't hold up as well on multiple viewings as some other classics, but I may have laughed harder at the Christopher Walken census taker skit than any other:

Chris Farley - Motivational Speaker Skits, Chippendales
Phil Hartman - Any Bill Clinton impression
Will Ferrel - Celebrity Jeopardy, Roubert Goulet, Blue Oyster Cult, Mr. Tarkanian, Night at Roxbury, etc...
John Belushi - Angry Guy on Weekend Update, Superhero Party, Samaurai Futaba
Eddie Murphy - Mr. Rogers Hood, Gumby, etc...

I honestly could give a list of each person from the show but that could take forever...lol
