Never been but heard it was the worst of his 3 in NOLA.

It is very good.
The steak on the menu is probably the best piece of steak in the whole city. dry aged prime NY strip.

Haven't been in over a year, but our meals were outstanding there.
Hearing that it's the "worst" of his restaurants is odd. His restaurants are different or, at least, Delmonico is. I'd hardly compare it to Nola or Emeril's. It's certainly not a bad restaurant.
Food was great and so was the service.

Certainly not the worst Emeril restaurant. Although such a statement is like the worst day fishing... My rank looks like Emeril's, Delmonico, and NOLA, but still all solid restaurants.
Really great cured meats, appetizers, and steaks. Beautiful space as well.

Took my uncle and daughter there last Fri eve. The $44 for the dry aged prime NY strip may be the best $44 I ever spent. We also got a fillet and the aged ribeye, all superb but the strip is my fav. You can't go wrong with any of the sides (we had asparagas, spinich, and mashed potatoes), all cooked perfectly. Fantastic meal, and the house merlo was very good.
One complaint - the blues music was too loud and the MD said it was the lowest volume. He did however move us to a table in a corner that was much more quiet.
Happy hour starts at 5 and the rest opens at 6. I'll be back.

Thanks for the info. I'm not a fan of Emeril's but I do like Nola and I remember liking Delmonico but haven't been in a long time. Anything other than Steak that could be recommened, not that I'm opposed to having a steak but I generally like to try something different.

Funny, I've never heard of or seen anyone eating there that didn't get steak. I would think there are better places for any thing else but steak. His menu is online. Commanders is near by.

Last meal I had there was brunch. Outstanding, but I don't think that's going to be helpful to your selection.

You are correct Gator, I will most likely get the steak, just making sure there is nothing else worth trying. I'm also aware of the presence of an online menu and the layout of the city of New Orleans which provides me with the whereabouts of other dining locales. Thanks

Guess I'm the first person to be heard of who didn't get steak, but I had no steak when I ate there.
I'm an Emeril's fan, so I'd have no problem trying something other than steak at Delmonico, if I wasn't in a steak eating mood. There are probably some specials and I'd take a strong look at those.

I'm talking about his food. I really enjoy eating at Emeril's. I'm sick of the bam! business, but I don't dislike the man. He can put out some great food.

I never understand the Emeril bashing. The guy was on tv for what a decade and half and of course wore out a catchphrase or two, but besides that what aggravates you or anyone about him?

Me either. All of his places put out top-notch food using only the best ingredients. He always has a professional staff that provides great service. The wine lists at Delmonico and Emeril are fantastic. People tend bash people when they get famous. He is the most well known chef in the country and he LOVES NEW ORLEANS!!
Sounds good in my book.

Times Picayune headline: "Tragic Mardi Bam for Emeril".
