Brief article about LSU & Jefferson, Oregon and spring practice.
Oregon Ducks Rundown

Not really a lot there but this cracked me up:

LSU has been ranked as high as No. 1 in some of the ridiculously early 2011 rankings - not a cupcake by any standards. But would the Ducks be better served by consuming a little dessert before the main course?
They want a PAC-10 cupcake as a warmup game before they play us

There are many teams in College football who would rather a tune-up game before a top-5 match-up

It's no always the best of ideas to start off with a big game. As you saw in '09 and '10, things didn't go as planned.

We both have to deal with it. It's not like they have a warm up game and we don't a la Va Tech in 2002. That was some bullshite.

Just like Virginia Tech pulled on our asses in 2002 before we went up there? That sucked

This. I am sure LSU would love to have a tune up game as well.

No worries. Defense is the ultimate neutralizer, and i think we got that covered. Not a ton of playing time needed on that side of the ball to come together. A lot of defense comes down to 1 on 1 matchups, and we'll kick arse there.

10 I dont think miles will make the mistake of putting in the secondary the 2nd half even though now were deep enough to do so....last year first game we were not

That's true. We did have a lot of inexperienced guys playing.

Moffit has his summer cut out for him to get our boys ready for Oregons offense.

LSU has the advantage here. We are breaking in a new(ish) offense. Granted it would only be one game of tape for Oregon to look at (assuming we had a game before the Ducks), but now Oregon has nothing to go off of.

I think our speed can stay with Oregon but ill give the advantage to oregon on speed....we cant base everything off of the Auburn game...that field was a little slippery...both auburn and oregon couldnt grip and that wont be a problem in dallas for either team.

I'm glad we don't. I think the players will be working much harder and with more intensity in the weeks leading up to the game than if we played a patsy.

Given plenty of prep time for a big game, CLM has them ready. Advantage: LSU

Yeah Miles is one of the best coaches on getting his team prepared for big games...I expect a slow first 10 mins though....We will take some deep shots but the run games are going to be the differences.

That is true but we do have plenty of time to get it done.

Our run game is good enough to keep their offense off the field and let our defense rest so im actually not too worried about it.

If i had to pick one concern it would be our kickers...they look good but we have no idea how they will be not only in their first game but a game on this big of stage.
