Top Books Recommended For Beginning Investors?

I will claim I know little to anything about the stock market but want to get my feet wet and begin investing. What are some books you recommend for absolute beginners to understand the basics of investing from short sells to online trading and overall stock market basics?

Ben Graham's book "the intelligent investor", followed by Buffett's "Essays of Warren Buffett". After that, I would read Peter Schiff.

Richest Man in Babylon. Book has been around for decades and it lays out the basics of investing through parables.

this may be the bible of investment...but for a rookie? ive read it twice and dont understand 1/3 of the words in that book

And then if you want to learn his system in more detail, go to his best classic, Security Analysis (3rd ed., 1951; 1st ed. was in 1934), which runs almost 800 pages.
