Ok so I am looking to buy a new AR. Right now, I am looking at either a spikes tactical or rock river arms, but I want to know what yall think.
The only upgrades that I really want right off the bat are a charging handle and maybe an angled foregrip (magpul)

I had the same question a while back. I got a pretty good response. Here's the LINK

What will you be using the rifle for? That goes a long what in determining what type to buy.
I currently own a Rock River Arms rifle, and I love it. It's primary use is for plinking and home defense.
That said, if and when I get another one, it would be something more along a Spikes. Something full mil-spec for more of a SHTF type of situation.
Also, get it chambered in 5.56 instead of .223, that way you can shoot either.

Rock River makes a good gun for a fair price. I shot one this weekend. Very Nice.

Dude, an AR for home defense isn't very practical. Your better off with a shotgun with 00.

I didn't say it was the ONLY thing I had for home defense.

Great for shootouts on the block though.

True. I guess if a rouge gang of 20 or so midgets break in you'll be covered.

Pretty much the exact scenario I was planning for. Need to cover all of your bases.

Just ordered a magpul CTR stock, MOE handgard, MOE grip and mil spec buffer tube. Now I just need a rifle to put them on
