Becoming less and less impressed with CPM....

Numbers don't lie...
if we lose today we will have lost 7 out of last 8 SEC series.
That's awful coaching and prep work. Still love CPM but as I've said in previous posts, this coaching staff is just not getting the job done.
Two seasons back to back where your club REgresses during the season does not speak well.

Like Miles, poor assistants seem to be CPM's problem.
Les recognized the problem, fortunately, and made changes.
I hope CPM can do the same.

Does CPM ever do an "old fashion get on that azz" session?

quote:silly to base an opinion on one game esp in BBall, but the pitching and batting stats over the past two seasons speak for themselves. I'm just opening it up to discussion

I'm not flaming the man either b/c I like him, but we shouldn't just say, 'oh he won a NC, he gets a pass.'
poor coaching is poor coaching

Been trying not to say anything. He made every wrong decision in the Florida series and took none of the blame.
That said, he's good at team chemistry. I'm not calling for his head, just saying he hasn't done a great job this year. Even saying that will get you in trouble here.

Grewy, Sanchez and Davis have to be the worst trio of asst coaches in all of major Div I baseball, period. Add that to Manieri falling in love with the bunt and it spells l-o-s-i-n-g.

quote:yeah except I'm not flaming, just a having a little perspective. Most folks on here have just drive by posts, I'm just having a discussion about his lack of not growing his teams over the last two seasons.
Even saying that will get you in trouble here.
I'm sure he might recognize this, but its becoming apparent he doesn't

Manieri needs to do some assistant coach shopping in a bad way and cut this current staff loose at the end of the season. And don't go for the bbq deal either. Go out and hire some real coaches with experience improving a team's skills.

We need to be worried. How in the world will he get the team to pull off a win...today??? Just to take the field will be hard enough. How does he get the wheels back on....over night??? It will take a really special coach. In my day....you would just say...Ole Miss.

Our team ERA of 4.18...and steadily climbing...is a major concern. Especially considering we are in a new bat era.
Our pitching sequences are too predictable and a little fastball heavy IMO.
Ultimately, the kids have to perform on the field better.
And any of you who think PM is too soft, you have no clue about how he is around players. Behind the scenes he is as big a prick as you will find. He is only a soft-spoken with the media.
In reality, he is probably putting too much pressure on kids behind closed doors, and unlike Miles he has Nooo problem throwing kids under the bus in front if the media.
Having said all that...ha ha...I still think he's a solid coach.

I like PM, but they really need to start winning some SEC series. Our fans, including myself, are quickly losing confidence.

I have never been impressed with him. That nice classy guy you see being interviewed is not the guy the players see. He is a ranting emotional windbag.

Looking at last year and now the start of this year, same scene. Just my take pitching and batting coach need to be replaced
