Ok I was wondering what you guys thought was the best fishing line. I'm looking for line that has the least memory you have found. I've fished with berkley vanish fluorocarbon line forever but the memory is horrible. I'm looking to switch to something better

If you want the least memory possible you can't beat PowerPro braid

The only thing about braided line is where I live in Arkansas the water is really clear and I tournament fish so that doesn't produce well enough...

BPS flouro is actually really nice.

For mono I like Trilene XL for low memory in clear and XT for toughness in moss.

Ande also makes great mono farily inexpensive but slight blue tint with the clear.

No matter what you get it is vital to not store your line or reels in the heat or in direct UV exposure.

depending on the type of fishing I'm doing is what determines the line I use.

All spinning reels have braid with a flouro leader of about 10ft.

Baitcasters - I really like the suffix brand for mono. I've used Yozuri hybrid and like it as well.

I've lost some decent size reds on PowerPro. On multiple occasions the line popped above the cork. I was so pissed I actually sent them an email. They offered to replace the spool but I was too lazy to send the broken line in. It's funny how the line never pops when you hook a 1,200 lb boulder in the MRGO.

Last summer I switched to spiderwire braid and haven't had any problems.

Seaguar is awesome - I use it. Sugoi is the best I have used so far.

Seaguar Carbon Pro used to be my favorite. Since they don't make that anymore what Seaguar do you Seaguar lovers prefer now? Anyone try Tatsu yet?

I keep coming back to trilene XL. I spooled up some 12lb P-Line a couple weeks ago and I absolutely hated it ! Stripped it off as soon as I got home.

Question for those of you using braid... Are y'all throwing braid with a bait caster ? I tried power pro once several years ago and it cut my casting distance damn near in half. Are there much better braids on the market now or something ?

I only throw blades/buzz on braid. I'm with you regarding casting performance. PLine sucks, too, btw!

Berk. Trilene 14 lb smooth casting (light green). caught big reds on them, a tough line, no backlashing (doens't fray).
