re: LSU college fishing team DQ'd at Rayburn

We forgot to check in when we got back to the ramp. It was a mistake that I surely will not make again. We didn't break any rules and as the tournament director said it was just a "technicality". We had 9lbs and 13oz which put us in 5th place which would have meant a check and a spot in Regionals. It was a tough day for my partner and I but we learned a lot from Sunday. Like I said its a mistake that I'll never make again.
I will gladly keep the OB updated this year on all of LSU's tournaments.
P.S. Thanks to everyone who came to Shreveport to support us in the College Classic.

When I'm frog fishing I never use anything less than 50 lb. braid, trust me if you get a good fish to hit a frog you need the braid....if you want to use the same rod for other topwaters simply tie a mono leader to the braid, it works better than just mono or just braid.

Best flourocarbon that I have used is seaguar
Falcon Lake...secret spot where we caught over 35 lbs (best 5) practicing for the FLW National Guard College Fishing tournament.
The LSU Fishing Team would love to have some baits donated :geauxtigers:
re: what big time bait have you NEVER caught a fish on ?

I have caught them on crankbaits, lipless, spinnerbait, buzzbait, jig, frog, plastics, wakebait, swimbait, wacky worm, shakey head, c-rig, but I have yet to catch one on a drop-shot rig......I'm a power fisherman screw all the finesse stuff
I have tons of both the H2O and L.C. crankbaits and there are a few differences between the two...the bills on the H20 cranks seem to break easier than the LC's and the Lucky Craft baits have sharper hooks...although for the price its hard to pass up the H2O's (like I said i have about 20 of em)
In Louisiana its hard to pass up a deer like this...if you can convince your family not to shoot it, it would be worth an extra year or two but since this is LA and any redneck/coonass would take any chance in hell to take this deer then I would take it the first chance i got....if this was Illinois then that would be a different story
Used the Predator Craw and Mystic Bug in Black/Blue and Black Neon...seem to be really good flipping baits...during the classic we got a few bites reeling the baits in showing that the feeding stimulant was working pretty good
We used them in the college classic and caught a few fish on them....seem to be really good baits

Is their a collage national bass championship? Or is this considered it?
This isn't really the championship, its just kind of a head-2-head tournament that is held during the Classic. There are actually three different National Championships for the three different circuits: FLW College Fishing, College Bass (ESPN), and BoatU.S Collegiate Fishing Championship

re: What's the best low-profile baitcaster for under $200?

I'm an Abu Garcia Guy so I've gotta say a Revo SX or STX. I own three of each and they are some awesome reels.
