Why hasn't a great superhero video game ever been made?

With all the super heroes out there (Superman, Spiderman, Green Lantern, etc.), you'd think there would have been better games made in that genre.
Curious to see how the new Batman game plays

I remember playing the crap out of this one. I liked it at the time. But I was a kid, who knows if it was actually any good.

So, Batman "Arkham Asylum" was not a good game?
What about that DC online game? Saw a lot of people talking about it before it came out... then nothing really.

it's fun to start out with but you can get your guy max level in a few days plus its end game content is not that great.

Spider Man 2 is a very good game as well as Hulk Ultimate Destruction.

I'm still enjoying it (working on Collections and T2 armors). They are releasing monthly(ish) content. The last one was Catwoman (added her to the PVP: Legends as well as a race and a small mission set that ends with a new solo daily mission) + a new Duo (Bane) + Valentine's Day events (with their own Feats and collection items) + a new raid (Batman's cave pt2 : Inner Sanctum). The next one will be Two-Face & Penguin + St. Patty's Day event + GL Duo + new raid (Batman: 3rd and final part of the Batman Cave raids - can't remember the name- (thus far). Yeah, they are running behind on their holiday events, but they will be on time next year as the work is already done).
At the pace they are going, there should be PLENTY of endgame content by this time next year. It's just really bizarre that they would make a game focused on endgame but only have about 50-50 levelling vs. endgame content.

Arkham Asylum was the first thing that came to mind. The game that came out with the first Spiderman movie was pretty awesome. The second was even better.
I remember playing some Power Ranger games waay back in the day

so does xmen count?
movie:
xmen (2000), x2 ('03), xmen: the last stand ('06), xmen origins: wolverine ('09), xmen first class ('11).
video games: (ps2, ps3, xbox, xbox 360)
xmen next dimension (2002), xmen: legends (2004), xmen legends II: rise of apocalypse ('05), xmen the official game/Tie-in with Xmen Last Stand Movie('06), xmen Destiny TBA (2011).
also - xmen x2 wolverine revenge ('03), xmen origins wolverine ('09).
Xmen wolverine and the ps2 legends games weren't too shabby.
