Ghosts and Goblins.
I never was able to beat it once, but in order to truly beat it, you have to run through the fricker twice. And the ending is just one screen with red text in very poor Engrish. woo-hoo.
Although it does have some bitching music on it's first level. gotta love old school NES chiptunes. Contra has it beat for best music though.

I agree with that too. Turtles in Time for SNES was the easiest but most fun to play

anyone who enjoyed the original TMNT for NES is a sadist.
That game sucked so much balls. And it really didn't even have any of the characters from the series. it was a bunch of crappy no-name characters for the most part. I do recall seeing be-bop and rocksteady, but the other enemies were just random.
Ultra really knew how to pile on the suck. if you saw that name on a cartridge, avoid like the plague.

Hard, but nothing crazy. I dominated that game, but there are a bunch of NES games that are nearly impossible. Ninja Gaiden was awesome, though.

Top Gun was tough for me too

Gauntlet or Double Dragon on the Quarter arcade cost me a fortune!
