Not even close. DMC 3 is easy compare to ninja gaiden. My first time playing it through, Virgil wasnt that bad of a boss, the only one that gave me trouble at first were the twins.

Maniac Mansion (without help shite was impossible)
Battle Toads...I remember being so pumped to play this with all the comics in Nintendo Power and shite was just impossible.

Did you play the original version, the first release, or the second one the one they released after they realized the difficulty was amped way up? The original DMC3 release makes everyones top ten hardest games list.

All insanely tough. I was wondering when someone was going to mention Kid Icarus. I recently played it with a buddy on the Wii Virtual Console. Still hard as crap.

I feel like Ghosts and Goblins and Battletoads are the games I'm going to be telling my kids about if they ever struggle to beat anything that comes out these days. I remember when i was a kid feeling like the game developers really didn't want you to be able to beat their games. That's why our generation trumps these little bastards today.
Still don't know how I and others didn't have to get sent to a mental hospital trying to get past that infamous tunnel level in Battletoads.
