The man can no longer be our pitching coach. I can't remember one pitcher that has gotten better under his direction

We are getting worse at the pitching position! Is it just me?

Pls discuss

Its just you. Does he get no credit for McCune? Alsup? Gausman? Berry?

why should he get much credit for McCune or Gausman? do we know they drastically improved under him over the last semester? remember they are freshman.

to be clear im not really supporting the OP but im just pointing out the two freshman are our two best pitchers. who our pitching coach has had the least amount of time with

Our whole staff is young with the exception of Alsup, Ott, and Bradshaw, so using that logic isn't gonna leave us with a whole lot of examples.

exactly

IDK if you can say Alsup looks BETTER, but he certainly hasn't regressed.

Ott? Regression.

Bradshaw...never big on him but we can't really tell seeing as he hasn't pitched.

Not taking one side or the other because I don't think there is really enough evidence to do so.

Since Grewe has gotten here, he has looked better, its really not debateable. Ott has regressed. Bradshaw hasn't been good his whole career.

Grewe sucks

3 of last years guys blew their arms out.

Nope him and Bradford were the best pitchers in the streak his freshman year. Coleman got hot in the tourney.

Ott has regressed.

Alsup is the exception.

Oh agreed, Alsup looks better, but I don't think it is enough to say "oh he put his stamp on that guy" since, generally speaking, the more experience a guy gets...the better he will get. Most of the time.

Agreed on Ott and Bradshaw though. Bradshaw has always just been so damn flat.

The only guys that should bother you from tonight from a pitching perspective are Jones & Ott.

Jones is a kid who the coaches thought would start the season as a weekend starter, and now he's effin' Rick Vaughn out there.

...and no, I don't mean he's #WINNING like @charliesheen, either!

Ott, whew. Like I said in the thread I started.

His new nickname is ICY HOT.

Other than that, we threw Dykstra, who threw hitless baseball for a tad over 2 IP, and some scrubs. No disrespect to the kids who threw, but none of them are going into an SEC game unless all Hell breaks loose.

The hitting is the real issue. Tonight's hitting in clutch situations stunk.

Bad.

Im not a big Grewe fan, but you have to give him credit for these pitchers. Alsup stunk in his earlier years and he has gotten much better. Ive seen Berry get shelled by a few mediocre teams while at UNO so he has gotten better. I never saw McCune in high school but looking at his senior numbers, it was nothing spectacular. Gausmann was pretty bad last year and thats the only reason he is at LSU.

Grewe isnt a pitching coach.

We have some great young talent but they are taught also to throw down the middle on 0-2 as well. I really dont know how anyone can give that list of pitchers and credit Grewe with development since 2 are frosh and 1 is a transfer.

Bradshaw was a hell of a pitcher his frosh season Im not sure why thats forgotten.

This year pitching is good due to new talent not a pitching coach developing the talent we already had.

Agreed, but I never have high expectations for JUCO guys anyway so throw Jones out the window.

Ott...I've been down on since last season. I thought he could turn it around then but up until now he hasn't. If he goes and pitches flawless from here on out I will gladly eat crow but I don't see it.
