Plus- you cant beat the tear-away jerseys.

my high school football home jerseys, which the fall of '87 was my Sr. year, were tear-away jerseys and after the final game they let us keep them which was special to me cause my jersey was brand new out the box when I chose my number when I was a Fr. so I was the only one that wore that one...

anyway my boys who play football found it a couple of years ago, I have all my high school stuff stored, and they and their friends all said they wish their jerseys were made like those...they just thought it was the coolest thing...

Here is the famous play in question. I filmed this off my tv screen but it's pretty good. The first link I zoomed in on the right guard and tackle. The second link is the live play with a great shot of Coach Mac pleading his case.

LOL@ no mention of the rushed SC field-goal at the end of the half, in which the chains weren't even moved. If the refs had of waited for the chains to be set, the kick isn't rushed, and likely good.

Also no mention of your own announcers even commenting on the missed early movement from you're right tackle on the 38 yard run by Leroy Jones, which set up your final three points.

At the end of the day, even if you disagree with the facemask (which the slow motion shows was a legit call) and the previous no call on the early movement, your defense still had an opportunity to stop the USC offense... and they couldn't.

USC was busted for cheating so honestly.

Nice try...but the Bush situation didn't even begin until the end of 2004.

BTW, speaking of cheating... Looks like someone needs to pay better attention to the news.

LINK

No telling how long that stuff's been going on in SEC country.

Please tell me there aren't USC fans on an LSU board arguing a game from 1979.

why would they mention those?. It does not fit the argument that the PAC-8 refs stole the game. Not to mention the refs were split PAC-8 / SEC.

LOL...These guys need to seriously start working on their spin. Not sure why Pac 8 refs would be working the game, when the conference expanded to the Pac 10 in 1978.

Who's arguing?

A USC fan didn't start this thread. Chiming in to present a different perspective is what these boards are all about, no?

I did not comment on any of the things you pointed out. I posted the video of the play so everyone can see it. LSU was a 7-4 team in 1979 and were blown out by Tulane at the end of the year.

I love how you two d-bags feel the need to protect usc every time this topic comes up. Enjoy your probation.

USC no match for LSU today on any level.
Well, that sounds nice, but considering UT beat them (give or take a mulligan) last season, that boast rings hollow.

FWIW I would love to see a rematch. It's tied 1 to 1 as it stands.

USC has the reputation of bending the rules and it goes back way before Bush scandal. The program has fallen a long way from its glory years. Now they have Lane Kiffin as the coach. No disrespect, I have always liked the Trojan brand, but they have alot of work to do to get back to the upper crust. I dont think they'll ever be what they were given the shift of power in college football and the rise of other more attractive schools in the Pac 10. JMO.

LSU went to Washington and beat the Huskies in 2009. That same year, the highly ranked Trojans lost and lost again this year to them.

The game was over 30 years ago. It's time to let that part go.

Hey Mr. Tangerine Man--then I guess it's time to let it go that you did NOT win (errrr cheat) or share a title in 2003....signed Reggie Bush and Mike Garrett...

in 2035, I bet you all still won't be over the split NC

You're at it again---I suggest you go to the LSU Football Ops Center and look in the trophy case. The crystal ball is not cut in half. USC-paper champions....LSU---BCS champions. You can have your AP garbage....same folks that thought BSU was no. 2 last year. BTW, where are those 2 missing Heisman Trophies in your bookcase??

I have not read the entire thread, but I second the comment about getting the full video. It is great. As for the Benji Thibodeaux (?) facemask, I have to say that the ref made the right call on that. Totally unintentional but the video clearly shows that he got the facemask. It is equally clear that 2 USC linemen moved early. Maybe the Tigers would have stopped 'em given a 3rd and 14, maybe not.

What a game.

BCS called 03 a slit decision and used the words split NC as well. Take it up with them.
