Regardless of his 40 time, I'm still puzzled as to why he left?
Withe his a 4.7 forty, his draft position will likely not improve exponentially if he stayed.
Staying he would risk getting hurt or having worse stats than he did last year.
Seems to me the smartest thing for him to do was league. I'm not sure a year will make that much of a difference in his position.

All the best to Stevan Ridley, but I'm asking this question too.
I'm guessing he didn't want to deal with punk arse professors anymore.

he certainly wouldn't get any faster by staying, and he risked losing carries to guys behind him that are probably more talented. he had a great year, and if he's going to make it, this is a good time to go.

Not really. He should have stayed. His draft stock will not be high this year and he could only have improved it. Very puzzling as to why he left.

No one remembers the questions of eligibility leading up to the Cotton Bowl?

But he was declared eligible. Have you never heard him in an interview(or interview someone else)? He was one of the smartest players on the entire team. The entire eligibility debacle was a fluke, that's why he was declared eligible and absolved of any wrong-doing.

I do, but it's my guess that the eligibility questions are somewhat related to the fact that Ridley decided before the season started that this was going to be his last year, if he had a good year. Doubt he put much effort into classroom stuff.

being a good football player is beside the point, 40 times are all that matter...

This is complete speculation on your part and completely wrong. Do you have some inside knowledge on this?
Btw, his official time is 4.66, Ingram 4.63

Where do you think he will be drafted? Usually people who resort to insults do so because they have nothing really of substance to say.
Give me your projection. Where will Ridley be drafted?

So he just couldn't cut it academically? An athlete has an infinite amount of help to pass classes.

4th-UDFA. It doesn't matter where i think he will get drafted, thats irrelevant to the point I was trying to make. You're delusional if you really think he could ONLY improve his draft stock by coming back. I can think of many ways he could have hurt his draft stock by playing another year.

bullshite. A stellar year next year would have improved his stock. He will be a 5th - 6th rounder this year if he gets drafted.

are we aware of him not cutting it academically? the allegations had nothing to do with failing...
