Is this the worst year for RBs in the NFL Draft?

The only RB certain to go in the first round is Mark Ingram and maybe Ryan Williams in the 2nd

Not a lot of top end talent, but a good bit in the lower rounds. There's a lot of later round backs that will be solid back-ups next year.
Did John Clay really stay in the draft? Didn't realize he was already 23

It's a pretty good year for RBs IMO, there just isn't a few that spearheads the group.
You will be able to get a good RB in the 4th-5th round this year...

I think some RBs will surprise us when it's all said and done.

Ryan Williams and Mikel Leshoure should go in the second round IMO.

There are around 20 RBs I see who can have an impact and will be drafted.
More workhorses than complementary backs though...

You never know who will pan out in the later rounds. Too early to say, but there are no projected stud tailbacks out of this draft for sure.

In the NFL, RB is increasingly a position teams don't need to use a 1st Rd pick on. Not every late pick will be Arian Foster or even Chris Ivory (I know he was a Rookie FA) but there is good value in the mid rounds in this draft like someone else said.

This is a good year for a second string running back.

Agreed, I don't think there's a lot of marquee names besides Ingram. But I think a lot of guys are going to show to be valuable even in the later rounds.

Will be a steal, think poor man's Steven Jackson...

There are a number of good backs who will do well in the NFL. Last year's class didn't have many drafted high either. I like a lot of these RB's: Vereen, Daniel Thomas, Delone Carter.

It seems like the workhorse RB who carries the ball 20-25 times a game is starting to fade and more teams are going with a two or even three back backfield. I think that's why we are seeing RBs devalued.
Plus, there isn't that star RB in this class.

The dreads help, but he really does play like SJ. Big back with underrated speed, not to mention great hands...

as a position teams have seen less and less value drafting a RB in the first round when you can get a perhaps comparable talent in later rounds and pay them a lot less
Be interesting to see if the rookie salary cap changes this over the next 5-10 years... or if the NFL is going to remain a QB centered league where RBs are semi-disposable (esp with how often they get hurt)
