Prop him up in the endzone next year and the streak continues!

Was he the a-hole who bragged about missing weddings and childbirths?

You put off by that too? What they tried to make a feel good story turned out to be the saga of the selfish (at least as to that guy).

He was a lifelong Packer fan too. Sucks the one he missed was one they won, at least he saw it happen though

It does, but he saw them win 3 others as well.

good question

I can understand missing a childbirth... because that can be unexpected

but if he missed a wedding of a close family member he's an a-hole for bragging about it

Seems like a close family member would know better than to have a wedding Super Bowl weekend.

Regardless of that, those commercials sucked. At least they spawned a pretty funny Tosh.0 parody.

it would be nice if they didn't schedule it then... but bottom line if they couldn't avoid it then he was the one who should have been a grown up about it

I can only imagine how pissed his daughter would have been (listening to that commercial) if it was her wedding he missed

Who the frick gets married super bowl weekend?

Also it would be pretty fluky for a relative to have a kid that weekend.

That part was probably made up to make the story better.

ETA: would he have missed his own death if he died two weekends ago?

yeah, that's the exact feeling I had. Plus, the WAY he said it just rubbed me the wrong way.

This was not "Mr. Excitement". His name is Larry Jacobson and he's a 49ers fan, not a Packers fan.

He still has a better chance of making Super Bowl XLVI than the Falcons do!

Too soon?
