Saw a pack of black wolves this summer up in Banff. I wasn't able to get a picture though, but I highly doubt I will ever see another one of those again.

Also, I have seen a few black bears (one about 10 feet away which was too close for comfort) which are always pretty cool to see.

Bald Eagles are always amazing to see too, no matter how many times you see them.

I have seen 1 wolf and 1 panther, both were pretty awesome.

Saw a shitload of elk in CO, those things are magnificent.

Grizzly in Montana

Thank god that fricker was about 300 yards away. Still made me nervous though. Especially when he stood up on his back legs and got wind of us.

But having 2 otters swim and play beside me while kayaking a small river in central LA might be the coolest thing ever. They followed me for a good 30 minutes.

grizzlies, moose, and rocky mountain goats in Alaska. Whenever I drive east on I-84 I see big horned sheep. I always enjoy seeing a herd of Elk as well.

Grizzly was a mere 30 feet away. Thank god the moose wasn't close when we saw it.

Seeing salmon migrate during the spawning season is pretty cool too.

And if Yellowstone counts as "The Wild", we almost ran into a few of these on the road in the middle of the night...

Not exactly sure what they were but had what I thought 2 Manta rays swim under the boat while fishing a couple of years ago.

They were probably 15ft wide.

Ha yeah, we almost ran through an entire herd of elk while driving through Yellowstone in the early morning. They were all sleeping in the middle of the road.

And I might be a bit biased, but see a gobbler strut across a field on a gorgeous spring morning might be the coolest thing in the wild.

I completely forgot that I saw a Grizzly in Yellowstone. It was about 300 yards away though too, so it just didn't have the same effect.

Other ones that I've seen off the top of my head.
- Mountain goats
- Bison
- Elk
- Moose
- Caribou

I really want to see a mountain lion some day and also a Grizzly up close.

I got a picture of the Bull Elk(fixed ) that I saw. We saw a lot of them up in Canada.

Wallowa state campground is located in a national forest in NE Oregon near WA and ID, anyway the local deer and elk have become immune to humans and walk right through the campgrounds.

Grizzlies are ok, frick Mountain lions. I don't ever want to see one in the wild. That will mean shite could go down for real!

Have you heard of Spieden Island in the San Juans? The founder of Oakley owns it and imported a bunch of animals from Africa and stuck them on the island . If you take a boat by the island, you are guaranteed see lots of these African antelope things and some big-horned sheep.

is that not a caribou? Someone there told us it was, but I've never seen one before so I just believed them.

I saw Elk, Moose, Bear, Buffalo, all kinds of things in Yellowstone. Although its nature, not sure it's "wild"

I agree about the magnificance of Turkey and Eagles though
