Is Mettenberger a player that will be part of LSU legend?

I can say I know little about the guy. I know LSU has out of state players that have been great. personally, I prefer native LA players.
Speculation can lead to chaos.
This kid from GA is huge, good arm, pocket passer, questionable character and a ton of potential. A white Cam Newton, big, Juco, highly touted player with character issues.
High character players get Les's approval. Zack is unknown.
Will Mettenberger lead LSU to glory and leave his mark? or just a good QB? or A bust?
Our best QB's are usually leaders first, not superstars

i have to agree. the guy made a mistake and he's paid for it. he now has a second chance. his mistake, while not to be condoned, was not god awful (if what i've read is true). he messed with the wrong girl.

Mettenberger may be very good, and I hope he is. I don't know if we got "Georgia's quarterback" or Georgia's backup quarterback. I'm glad to hear that Kragthorpe has made it known that the best players will play and that "if you want seniority then you should join the army". I expect Mett will get his chance as starting QB unless Jefferson continues to play as he did against the Aggies, which I would not look for.

Just one thing that needs to be made clear. Nobody has ever seen anything like Cam Newton. Even Tebow and Vince Young did not have a year like Cam did. Mett is a statue and can't hold Cam's jock strap. Fortunately we don't need a player with all the bullcrap hype everybody is showering Mettenberger with. We just need a serviceable QB.

Woah now, you're comparing a running QB to a pocket passer. Obviously they're not on the same level.. Cam Newton is a heisman winner with a BCS ring.

It heavily depends on 2 things:
Will he start this year ?
Will he play 3 years ?
If those are yes/yes, he has what it takes to do the things that it takes to be called a legend at LSU. Hodson type legend.
