Anyone know where I can find info about walking on the football team?
Do you need HS tape?
And when are tryouts?

Try outs are sometime during the summer. You need to have your high school coach contact LSU and set up a try out session. And highlights are recommended.

Good luck to you.
I hope you dress, but it would be a thrill for me just to be on the scout team.

Can you throw it 50 yards from a knee?

You should not be on here asking for advice. You should talk to the highest ranking coach that you can and ask for this information. Coaches love the ones that put themselves out there. Phone call would be nice but email might be better so you do not interupt anything important. Ask your high school football coach for some advice on what to talk and ask about. Thats the way you go about it.

Do you piss lightning and crap thunder?

Don't let anyone discourage you. I know a few players that earned scholarships and played a heck of a lot. One was the deep snapper for a couple of years. Find a way to contribute to the team where they are weak. It is true....some coach must give you a chance. Usually there is a coach on staff that is in charge. Call the football office and keep calling until you get the info you need. They usually invite a dozen or so to report with the freshmen. Try to get that status. Calls from LSU alums really help.

Contact Athletic Department they will tell you the dates
Contact your HS coach for a recommendation
Make sure you meet the requirements to become a walk-on player
Don't think you can walk on and then make an arse out of yourself, they have more than a few scout members that could be playing at smaller schools

Blare your favorite rap song then Walk in the stadium like raydon with your fist in the air and nodding your head.

when you send in your tape, don't put your name on it. sign it "little ball of hate!"

Contact the Athletic Department... via PHONE or in person... not flipping email like someone (hopefully joking) suggested.
Have tape/film available if possible... but if not --- write up a football "resume" to present... i.e. where did you play... any "honors" -- all district, etc.?
Ask YOURSELF some questions:
a. what are my realistic goals?
b. am I willing to work my arse off and NEVER play?
c. was i recruited out of HS... if yes, by what level schools? If no, why not?
For a walk on -- I think you need a clear understanding of your goals, expectations, realistic evaluation of your talent, and understanding of how others (coaches, etc.) view your talent.
Good luck... it's a LOT of thankless work... but if you are special --- you can make it and actually contribute..... that is a long shot though... so be realistic.

Get your tape in the hands of Charles Baglio or maybe Sam Nader, I forget which one of them handles that sort of thing. Staff Directory
They dress everybody for bowl games (or at least they used to when Saban was here, not sure about how they do it now) so if you can just get through the year you'll at least walk away with an LSU jersey with your name on it.

Give it up Dude. Give it up. If you were any good, you would already be playing somewhere. The saying "the older i get, the better I used to be" rings a bell here. Spend your college days drinking and chasing women. Walk on at first but try to earn a scholarship in bitches.
