Thoughts on Ingram being a Saint?

I would love for the Saints to draft Ingram. I realize they may not have the chance but if they do they should take it. Imagine how well he would fit into SP's physical run game as well as the screen game? Not to mention he is a very good pass blocker who isn't afraid to light up a blitzing LB.

Thoughts?

RB in the first round is stupid in my opinion. We've had 2 different FA rushers carry our running game the past 3 years. Why would you draft one in the first round that yiou have to pay millions of dollars for. Plus we need pass rushers way more than a RB

You act like there arent any first round RBs who have been successful. shite, we drafted one at 23 a few years back that turned out fine.

A true stud would be that much better in our offense and wouldnt be a waste of a 1st. Ingram is a combo of what we have already built into 1 back and would instantly be the best RB on our roster. It'd be nice to have 1 go to guy instead of worrying about PT and CI's next injury.

I want the defender if it's a better player, but I would have absolutely zero problem drafting Ingram besides that. There is a lot up in the air with the current RB's, and this team thrives when it has an effective run game.

It is not worth it to get a RB in the first round however you want to look at it. PERIOD. Look at the top ruehers this last year in the NFL. Whjo was the #1 rysher????? OH yeah Foster!! FA RB!!! He probably made 1 million this year and not 8 million.

Never draft an RB in the first unless they are someone like AP.

Some 1000 yard backs this year

Foster - undrafted
Charles - 3rd round
Turner - 5th round
Bradshaw - 7th round
Hillis - 7th round
GreenEllis - undrafted
Blount - undrafted

If Ivory can stay healthy, he will be really good. No need to waste a 1st on an RB.

I see all of you guys' points about having to pay a feature back like that. Plus we got a good young back in Chris Ivory and could use help on the defensive side of the ball.

I had just been thinking about how well MI would fit into the offense. It would be like having a PT with better speed.

No.

RBs are always plentiful in the draft and you can get a good back in a later round. It needs to be spent on a position of major need that has a big talent dropoff outside the first round. Like DE/DT...

Plenty of stud RBs found in second/third round and even later rounds. Safest pick is a LB, they have the lowest bust % and is a huge need for us too.

I think Ingram would be a good fit for the Saints but I don't think they should draft him. They have other holes to fill with their early picks.

dont get me wrong I think Ingram would be awesome in our offense. Its just not worth it to this team to use a 1st round pick on it thats all.

We need A PASS RUSHER WAY MORE THAN WE NEED A RB!!

People you need to get the "we don't run the ball enough" crapola out of your heads! We didn't put ANY pressure on the QB this year that was our biggest glaring weakness!!

maybe we need a stickied thread labeled Ingram rather than have one or two new ones everyday

how much do you think a RB picked 24 makes?

surely not 8 million

Foster was a a undrafted FA. I can name good undrafted or late round player at any position.
